GND VEHICLE PROPERTY DAMAGE SUFFERED WHEN BOXES BLOWN BY JET BLAST ENCOUNTER HIT PARKED CAR.
WHILE TAXIING OUT OF THE CARGO RAMP ON FEB/THU/97; I WAS TOLD BY THE MARSHALLER TO MAKE A R-HAND TURN OF 180 DEGS. I DID A NORMAL LOW PWR TURNOUT TO THE R FOLLOWING THE MARSHALLER'S SIGNALS. THE MARSHALLER WAVED US OFF AND WE TAXIED OUT OF THE CARGO RAMP; NOT KNOWING THAT ANY PROB HAD OCCURRED. 3 DAYS LATER; THE CARGO REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT WHILE TAXIING OUT THERE WERE 2 PALLETS OF UNSECURED SMALL BOXES. THE BOXES AND PALLETS WERE BLOWN OVER BY THE LOW PWROUT TURN AND THEY HIT HIS CAR THAT WAS SITTING ON THE RAMP. THE CAR AND BOXES WERE ABOUT 50-100 FT FROM THE AIRPLANE. THERE WERE ALSO 3 EMPLOYEES SITTING BEHIND THE CAR. THE CARGO REPRESENTATIVE SAID 1 WAS HIT BY A BOX BUT WAS FINE. THE CARGO REPRESENTATIVE SAID HE TRIED TO MAKE A CLAIM WITH HIS COMPANY FOR HIS CAR (PERSONAL CAR) THAT HE CLAIMS HE NEEDS FOR WORK. HIS COMPANY SAID TO MAKE A CLAIM WITH ACR X; THE COMPANY I WORK FOR. I FEEL THE BOXES SHOULD BE TIED DOWN AND SECURE BEFORE THE MARSHALLER TAXIES AN AIRPLANE OUT. I DIDN'T SEE THE BOXES OR EVEN SEE THEM BLOW OVER. THE MARSHALLER NEVER INDICATED ANYTHING WAS WRONG OR TO STOP THE ACFT. I ALSO FEEL SOMEONE'S PERSONAL CAR DOES NOT BELONG ON A RAMP AREA. THE CARGO REPRESENTATIVE SAID I DID NOTHING WRONG; THE TAXI OUT WAS A NORMAL TURNOUT AND THAT I FOLLOWED THE MARSHALLER. THE CARGO REPRESENTATIVE SAID THE BOXES WERE NOT TIED DOWN AND IT WAS NOT MY FAULT.
