MLG ACFT. PF; FO; WAS NEW ON ACFT AND FLC BECAME DISTR WHEN FLT ATTENDANT ADVISED THEM OF AN ILL PAX. FO WAS OFF COURSE FOR 20 MI WHEN CTR CTLR CALLED IT TO THEIR ATTN AND THEN CLRED THEM FOR XING RESTR. AGAIN FLT ATTENDANT WAS IN COCKPIT AND PF; FO; FAILED TO MAKE XING RESTR.
ON THIS DAY; I WAS ACTING AS CAPT ON ACR A OPERATING MEM- PHL. OUR ARR INTO PHL WAS THE DUPONT 3 OVER GVE VOR. NEAR GVE VOR THE LEAD FLT ATTENDANT CAME UP AND ADVISED US OF A PAX THAT WAS FEELING ILL AND WHAT THEY WERE DOING TO COMFORT HER. THE COPLT; ON HIS SECOND TRIP OFF IOE; WAS FLYING AND GOT MORE INVOLVED WITH WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN THE CABIN THAN WITH FLYING THE ARR. AFTER GVE; WE WERE SUPPOSED TO GO DIRECT OTT; BUT HE DIDN'T START THIS UNTIL ABOUT 20 MI PAST GVE WHEN CTR POINTED IT OUT TO US. WE WERE THEN GIVEN CLRNC TO CROSS JAYBO INTXN AT 15000 FT. AT ABOUT THIS TIME THE FLT ATTENDANT CAME BACK TO UPDATE US ON THE ILL PAX. I TOLD THE FO TO GO AHEAD AND DSND AT IDLE PWR AS THIS WOULD ASSURE MAKING THE XING RESTR. AFTER THE FLT ATTENDANT LEFT; I LOOKED AT THE INSTS AND REALIZED WE WERE GOING TO BE HIGH AT JAYBO; SO I CALLED CTR TO LET HIM KNOW. HE SAID IT WOULDN'T BE A PROB. WE CROSSED AT 16000 FT. THIS JUST PROVES WHAT IS TAUGHT AT OUR CRM EVERY YR: MAKE CERTAIN ONE PLT IS CONCENTRATING ON FLYING THE ACFT WHILE THE OTHER DEALS WITH OTHER PROBS THAT MAY ARISE.
