SMA PVT PLT ROTATES HIS ACFT TOO SOON FROM A NON PAVED HIGH ALT RWY. THERE WAS A XWIND WHICH TOOK THE ACFT E; OFF THE RWY AND THROUGH A BARB WIRE FENCE WHERE IT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.

Narrative

DURING TKOF FROM STANLEY; ID (2U7); I ROTATED TOO SOON AND WAS BLOWN OFF THE RWY BY A XWIND FROM THE W. ARPT IS AT 6403 FT MSL AND OUTSIDE AIR TEMP WAS NEAR 20 DEGS C. DUE TO PREMATURE LIFTOFF; I WAS UNABLE TO GAIN PROPER AIRSPD AND ALT AND WENT THROUGH A BARB WIRE FENCE ADJACENT TO THE RWY. TKOF WAS ON RWY 17. RWY IS 4300 FT BY 150 FT AND IS A DIRT; GRAVEL AND GRASS FIELD. PROPER AIRSPD AND A LATER ROTATION; WITH APPROPRIATE XWIND CTL; WOULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS ACCIDENT/INCIDENT FROM HAPPENING. TO REVIEW AND CLRLY THINK OF SOFT FIELD VERSUS HIGH DENSITY ALT DEPS WOULD BE A LESSON TO LEARN. THIS IS THE HUMAN FACTOR TO ASSESS THE PROPER JUDGEMENT IN PREPARING TO DEPART FROM A SOFT FIELD AT HIGH DENSITY ALT CONDITIONS. HINDSIGHT IS ALWAYS 20/20 AND YET THIS SIT OCCURRED IN JUST A MATTER OF MINS. THE USE OF A COMPLETE CHKLIST FOR SOFT FIELD AND HIGH DENSITY ALT CONDITIONS WOULD BE BENEFICIAL AS A MEMORY AID. PROPER EMER PROCS WERE ADHERED TO BY PULLING BACK THE PWR AND PULLING THE MIXTURE TO STOP ENG ONCE THE SIT DEVELOPED. PROMPT REALIZATION IN THIS PREVENTED LOSS OF ACFT AND LIFE. I (THE PLT) DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES ALTHOUGH THE ACFT DID RECEIVE SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE AND YET IT WAS INTACT AND ON ITS LNDG GEAR IN AN UPRIGHT CONDITION WHEN IT STOPPED.
