AN SMT IS HANDED OFF FROM PAM; FLC; TO EGI WITH POOR INTERFAC COORD. SMT DEPARTS AIRSPACE AT REQUEST OF EGI.

Narrative

ON A VFR FLT FROM PERRY FOLEY ARPT IN NORTH FLORIDA (TRIP ORIGINATING FROM TAMPA BAY EXECUTIVE) I HAD BEEN TOLD BY FLT SVC THAT MIL OPERATING AREAS WERE OPEN IN THE EGLIN/PENSACOLA AREA TO VFR TFC SO LONG AS I CHKED INTO ATC ALONG MY WBOUND RTE. I HAD RECEIVED SIMILAR INSTRUCTIONS ON MY FLT OVER TO TAMPA THE PREVIOUS DAY; AND ALL HAD GONE WELL THEN. THIS TIME; HOWEVER; WAS VERY DIFFERENT. ALTHOUGH I ANNOUNCED WITH EACH CTLING AGENCY THAT I WAS WBOUND TO MOBILE; I NEVER RECEIVED A HDOF TO ANOTHER CTLING AGENCY. TALLAHASSEE DROPPED ME; BUT I FINALLY RECEIVED AN ACKNOWLEDGMENT FROM TYNDALL AND WAS GIVEN A SQUAWK CODE AND IDENTED ON RADAR. I AGAIN STATED I WAS WBOUND TO MOBILE AND THAT I WANTED VFR FLT FOLLOWING ALONG THE RTE. I WAS TOLD TYNDALL WOULD HAND ME OFF TO EGLIN. INSTEAD; TYNDALL LATER SQUAWKED ME 1200; WHILE I WAS ALREADY IN EGLIN AIRSPACE AND TOLD ME TO CONTACT EGLIN MYSELF FOR FURTHER FLT FOLLOWING. I IMMEDIATELY KNEW THIS WOULD BE A PROB; SINCE AIRSPACE CANNOT BE ENTERED WITHOUT PRIOR PERMISSION. SURE ENOUGH; WHEN I CONTACTED EGLIN; THEY WERE NOT HAPPY; ADVISING ME TO LEAVE THEIR AIRSPACE IMMEDIATELY BECAUSE THE AREA WAS ACTIVE. A CTLR THEN CAME ON AND ASKED ME DETAILS OF HOW TYNDALL HAD LEFT; AND ASKED IF THEY HAD TOLD ME TO STAY N OF A CERTAIN POS. I ADVISED THEY HAD NOT. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT ALL TRANSITION PLTS SHOULD SIMPLY BE ADVISED TO STAY OUT OF SUCH AREAS AND TO ADHERE TO THE VICTOR AIRWAYS. THIS INCIDENT SHOOK ME GREATLY AND I DO NOT INTEND THAT I WILL EVER BE PLACED IN SUCH POS AGAIN.
