FLC OF SF30 DEPARTS WITH MAIN GEAR PINS STILL IN PLACE. UPON GEAR RETRACTION THE INDICATIONS TELL THEM THE PROB AND THEY RETURN. ACFT HAD JUST COME FROM MAINT HANGAR.
SHORTLY AFTER RWY 36R TKOF FROM DFW WE NOTICED BOTH MAIN GEAR WERE NOT COMING UP WITH PROPER GREEN LIGHT EXTINGUISHMENT. THE NOSE WHEEL ONLY CAME UP. THE MAIN GEAR NORMAL RETRACTION SEQUENCE HAD BEEN INTERRUPTED BY THE PRESENCE OF 2 GEAR PINS WHICH I SHOULD HAVE NOTICED ON MY PREFLT WERE STILL IN PLACE. THE PROPER QRH WAS CONSULTED AND THE PROCS FOLLOWED; WHICH INCORPORATED RECYCLING THE GEAR HANDLE BACK DOWN. THIS SOLVED THE PROB; AND WE RETURNED FOR A NORMAL RWY 36L LNDG AT DFW. AFTER SHUTTING DOWN BOTH ENGS; A MECH AND I FOUND BOTH GEAR PINS TO BE STILL IN PLACE ON THE MAIN LNDG GEAR (1 EACH STRUT). CONSISTENTLY VIGILANT PREFLTS ARE A NECESSITY AND WILL BE UTILIZED AT ALL TIMES IN THE FUTURE. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 382830: FLT WAS SCHEDULED TO DEPART FOR ABI FROM DFW AND WAS DELAYED BECAUSE THE ACFT WAS COMING FROM THE MAINT HANGAR. HAVING A LITTLE TIME ON HAND; I WENT TO SEE THE CHIEF PLT ABOUT PAPERS I 'HAD' TO SIGN AND NOTARIZE BY OCT/XX/97; OR 'AS PER COMPANY E-MAIL' PAY WOULD BE WITHHELD! (NOTE: NO PRESSURE HERE!) I WAS TOLD ABOUT THE PAPERS FOR THE FIRST TIME BY E-MAIL AT THE START OF A 4 DAY TRIP ENDING OCT/XX/97; HAVING 7 HRS 36 MINS OF FLT TIME AND OVER 11 HR DUTY DAY. I WAS TALKING TO THE CHIEF PLT ABOUT FORMS TO SIGN AND VERY; VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE RAMIFICATIONS. I ARRIVED IN THE CREW LOUNGE AND SAW THE FO JUST LEAVING FOR THE ACFT. I PULLED THE RELEASE AND HEADED FOR THE ACFT. WE BOTH FOLLOWED OUR FLOW CHKS AND READ VERY CAREFULLY 2 OPEN MEL ITEMS. AFTER TKOF; GEAR HANDLE WAS PLACED UP. WE FIRST NOTED A VIBRATION FROM GEAR THEN NOTED 2 GREEN ON MAINS; TRANSIT LIGHT ON; NOSEWHEEL LIGHT OFF. AFTER FINALLY COMPLETING THE ROUND TRIP; THE WORD WAS OUT -- MECHS CAME BACK AND WROTE UP GEAR PINS FOUND ON MAINS AND ADD BRAND NEW FLAGS.
