FLC OF BE1900 TAXIES WRONG TXWY AND FAILS TO HOLD FOR TAXIING ACR ACFT. GND CTLR INTERVENES AND ALERTS THE ACR.
AFTER RECEIVING TAXI CLRNC TO RWY 18L FROM AIRSIDE TERMINAL ONE AT ORLANDO INTL WE PROCEEDED OUT TXWY B4. A SAAB ON THE INNER TXWY TO OUR L TURNED OFF THEIR TAXI LIGHT AS THEY APCHED THE SAME INTXN. MY INTERP WAS THAT THE SAAB WOULD YIELD. THEY DID. (GND CTL RADIO TFC WAS VERY BUSY ON THIS SUNDAY EVENING.) WHILE CAREFULLY NEGOTIATING THE XING SIT WITH THE SAAB WE RECEIVED AN ADDITIONAL CLRNC TO HOLD SHORT OF TXWY C AND TO FOLLOW AN ACR MOVING N ALONG TXWY C. I MISSED THIS CLRNC. AS WE CONTINUED THROUGH THE INTXN OF TXWYS B4 AND C AN UNDERSTANDABLY UPSET GND CTLR QUICKLY WARNED THE ACR ACFT THAT WE HAD MISSED OUR CALL. THE FO HAD ROGERED THE CLRNC TO FOLLOW THE ACR ACFT BUT I WAS UNCLR OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS BECAUSE I WAS OCCUPIED WITH THE APCHING SAAB AND HAD PICKED UP A GOOD RATE OF TAXI SPD. THE AUTO- BRIEFER IN OUR ACFT WAS MELED AND INOP. THE FO WAS READING THE REQUIRED PAX BRIEFING. WE WERE FORTUNATE THAT SUFFICIENT XING DISTANCE EXISTED BTWN US AND THE ACR ACFT. I DON'T HAVE A GOOD ESTIMATE; BUT I SUSPECT WE HAD AT LEAST 300 FT OF SEPARATION; AND POSSIBLY AS MUCH AS 800 FT. IN THE FUTURE I WILL WAIT UNTIL BOTH PLTS FULLY UNDERSTAND ALL GND CLRNCS INCLUDING TAXI INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE INITIATING ACFT MOVEMENT AND WILL DELAY PREDEP BRIEFING (WHEN INOP) UNTIL CLR OF INTERSECTING TXWYS AND XING GND TFC. THIS WILL IMPROVE OUR CHANCES OF ASSURING PROPER CREW RESOURCE MGMNT ON THE GND AS WELL AS INFLT.
