Synopsis

THE FLC OF A BAE 4100 DEPARTS IAD; DC; IN AN ACFT WHOSE TAIL NUMBER DOES NOT MATCH THE FLT PLAN NUMBER.

Narrative

DEPARTED IAD ON JAN/XX/98 WITH THE WRONG ACFT REGISTRATION NUMBER ON THE FAR PART 121 DISPATCH RELEASE. COMPANY DISPATCH NOTIFIED US OF THIS MISTAKE VIA ACARS 10 MINS PAST THE TIME WE LEFT THE GATE. THE RELEASE WAS CORRECTED TO THE PROPER ACFT REGISTRATION NUMBER AT THAT TIME. ON OUR PREVIOUS 'IN RANGE' CALL TO FLT OPS; WE WERE NOTIFIED OF AN ACFT SWAP UPON ARRIVING AT IAD. HOWEVER; AT THE LAST MOMENT; WE WERE TOLD TO STAY IN THE SAME ACFT FOR OUR NEXT FLT. THE RELEASE WE WERE GIVEN HAD THE CORRECT ACFT REGISTRATION NUMBER WRITTEN ON THE TOP. UNFORTUNATELY; THE ACFT NUMBER THAT MAKES UP THE RELEASE ITSELF WAS THAT OF THE ACFT WE WERE TO SWAP INTO. DUE TO HAVING ONLY 25 MINS ON THE GND BEFORE OUR NEXT FLT; AND THE NEED TO ACQUIRE FOOD; THE ACTUAL ACFT REGISTRATION NUMBER ON THE RELEASE WAS OVERLOOKED. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 392051: COMPANY DISPATCH NOTIFIED US OF THIS MISTAKE VIA ACARS 10 MINS PAST THE TIME WE LEFT THE GATE. THE RELEASE WAS CORRECTED TO THE PROPER ACFT REGISTRATION NUMBER AT THAT TIME. WE LANDED AT DEST ARPT WITH NO MISSED BAGS OR PAX.
