FLC OF DASH8 STOPS TAXI WITH NOSEWHEEL ACROSS THE HOLD SHORT LINE. GND CTLR ISSUES CONTINUED TAXI INSTRUCTIONS.

Narrative

WHILE TAXIING TO OUR RAMP AREA; THE CAPT LOST AWARENESS OF HIS LOCATION ON THE FIELD. I TRIED TO MAKE HIM AWARE OF THE SIT WITH VERBAL INSTRUCTIONS; BUT ONLY AFTER PLACING MY HAND ON THE PWR LEVERS OVER HIS HAND DID HE SEEM TO 'SNAP' OUT OF HIS STATE OF MIND. ONCE THE ACFT HAD STOPPED; OUR POS WAS NOSEWHEEL ACROSS THE HOLD SHORT LINE OF A RWY. THERE WAS CONFLICTING TFC ON THE RWY OR ON APCH. THE CAPT DECIDED TO TURN OFF ON THE NEXT TXWY WITHOUT LETTING ME NOTIFY GND CTL FIRST. AFTER I OBJECTED TO THIS ACTION; GND SPOKE WITH US AND NOTICED THAT WE HAD MISSED OUR TXWY TURN. GND INFORMED US TO PROCEED WITH OUR TAXI. WE APOLOGIZED FOR THE ACTION AND THE CTLR INFORMED US THAT IT WAS NO PROB. DUE TO THE MULTIPLE TIMES IN A TRIP SEQUENCE THAT WE SVC A PARTICULAR ARPT; AN ATTITUDE OF COMPLACENCY AFFECTS HUMAN PERFORMANCE. DILIGENCE WHILE OPERATING AN ACFT IS FOREMOST THE PRIORITY OF EVERYONE IN THE AIR TFC CTL SYS. IF A PERSON FEELS PREOCCUPIED WITH EXTRANEOUS FACTORS; THEY SHOULD RELIEVE THEMSELVES FROM THE OPS SYS. ALL EFFORTS SHOULD BE FOCUSED ON SAFE; PROFESSIONAL OPS WHILE IN THE AIR TFC SYS.
