Synopsis

DA20 CREW WAS FORCED TO DSND WHEN #2 ENG LOST THRUST.

Narrative

CRUISING AT FL390; REQUESTED FL410. AT FL405 THE R ENG ROLLED BACK. REQUESTED LOWER FROM CTR; BUT WAS TOLD UNABLE AT THAT MOMENT. INFORMED CTR THAT WE WERE UNABLE TO HOLD ALT. IMMEDIATELY CLRED TO FL390. REACHING FL390 TOLD CTR UNABLE TO HOLD ALT. CTR REQUESTED A 40 DEG R TURN AND CLRED US TO FL310. A RELIGHT OF THE ENG OCCURRED AT APPROX FL325 AND WE REQUESTED A HIGHER ALT. CTR TOLD US TO CONTINUE DSCNT TO FL310. LATER CLRED TO FL330. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 415807: WHILE CLBING THROUGH APPROX FL405 (APPROX 50 NM NE OF BNA VOR) WE HAD A FLAMEOUT ON THE R ENG. I CALLED ATC AND ADVISED THAT WE WOULD NEED TO RETURN TO FL390. THAT WAS APPROVED. AROUND FL390; I REQUESTED FL300. THE CTLR ADVISED US THAT WE WOULD NEED TO MAINTAIN FL390 FOR 1-2 MINS. AT THAT TIME I CALLED THE CTLR BACK AND SAID WE WERE UNABLE TO MAINTAIN FL390; THAT WE HAD A FLAMEOUT AND HAD TO CONTINUE THE DSCNT. WE WERE GIVEN A VECTOR OF 40 DEGS TO THE R AND A DSCNT TO FL310. WE WERE ABLE TO GET A RELIGHT AT APPROX FL323 AND ADVISED ATC WE HAD DONE SO.
