CABIN ATTENDANT RPT REGARDING A B767-300ER ABOUT TO HEAD OUT OVER THE ATLANTIC WHICH HAD AN ELECTRICAL ODOR CAUSING BURNING EYES AND THROATS. THE ACFT DIVERTED TO YUL FOR A MAINT CHK.

Narrative

AFT FLT ATTENDANT CALLED TO RPT AN ELECTRICAL ODOR COMING FROM LAVATORY A4 (AFT INBOARD LAVATORY AT 4R). SAID THAT FLT ATTENDANTS AS WELL AS PAX COMPLAINED OF BURNING EYES AND THROATS. THE COCKPIT WAS INFORMED. I; MYSELF; HAD MADE MENTION TO THE FIRST CLASS GALLEY FLT ATTENDANT THAT MY EYES FELT A LITTLE BURNING SENSATION (LIKE THEY GET WHEN YOU'RE EXTREMELY TIRED). BUT I HAD NO REASON TO BE TIRED; AS THIS WAS THE BEGINNING OF THE TRIP. (THIS WAS PRIOR TO BEING NOTIFIED ABOUT THE SIT.) AFTER THE FO INVESTIGATED THE SIT; MY CREW AND I WERE TOLD TO PREPARE TO LAND. I BELIEVE WE WENT FROM FL330 TO LNDG IN 12 MINS. TO MY KNOWLEDGE; THE ORIGIN OF THE POWDERY SUBSTANCE WAS NEVER FOUND. AFTER A 3 HR DELAY; WE CONTINUED TO MAN. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THAT THE MAINT PERSONNEL WENT THROUGH THE LAVATORY AND TOOK IT APART BUT COULD FIND NOTHING CREATING THE PROB. THE LAVATORY WAS BLOCKED OFF AND THE FLT CONTINUED ON. HE HAS HEARD NOTHING FURTHER ABOUT THE INCIDENT. IT WAS VERY CONFUSING TO ALL CONCERNED.
