Synopsis

A CESSNA C177 PLT ENTERED INTO CLASS C AIRSPACE WITHOUT A CLRNC.

Narrative

GND TOLD ME TO TAXI RWY 5; UPON DEP REMAIN CLR OF CLASS C. AFTER ACFT CHK; I CALLED PAGE TWR; READY FOR DEP ON RWY 5; AND REQUESTED L TURN ON DEP. THEN FMY TWR 119.0 CTLR SAID 'CLRED FOR TKOF L TURN ON COURSE APPROVED.' THEN I SAID; 'CLRED FOR TKOF ON RWY 5; L TURN ON COURSE.' AFTER CLRING THE RWY; TURNED ON COURSE 360 DEGS; CLBING AT 500 FPM AND 90 KTS AFTER RETRACTING THE GEAR. THEN AT ALMOST ACROSS THE CALOOSAHATCHEE RIVER; FMY TWR CAME ON AND SAID; 'CARDINAL IDENT.' I DID. THEN FMY CTLR SAID; 'CARDINAL; WHEN YOU GET TO YOUR DEST; CALL ME AT THE FMY TWR FOR POSSIBLE CLASS C DEV.' UPON ARR AT LAL; I CALLED THE FMY TWR 119.0 CTLR. HE ASKED FOR MY NAME; ADDRESS AND PLT CERTIFICATE NUMBERS. MOST OF THE FLTS I USE 'FLT FOLLOW.' THAT DAY WAS VFR TO PERFECTION; SO I DID NOT USE RADAR. NORMALLY UPON DEP WITH RADAR; 'REMAIN AT OR BELOW 1500 FT MSL UPON DEP UNTIL DEP CTL 126.8 ADVISES OTHERWISE. MY MIND SET THAT DEP ON THAT DAY WAS TO START CLBING TO ALT AFTER XING THE RIVER. IF THERE WAS A 'POSSIBLE CLASS C DEV' IT WAS MARGINAL. IN THE FUTURE; AS ALWAYS; I WILL BE MORE AND MORE ATTENTIVE TO ALTS.

Frequently asked questions

How do I search flights by aircraft type on FlightFinder?

Pick an aircraft model — Boeing 737, Airbus A320, A380, Boeing 787 Dreamliner and more — enter your origin airport, and FlightFinder shows every route that plane flies from there with live fares.

Which aircraft types can I filter by?

We support Boeing 737/747/757/767/777/787, the full Airbus A220/A319/A320/A321/A330/A340/A350/A380 family, Embraer E170/E175/E190/E195, Bombardier CRJ and Dash 8, and the ATR 42/72 turboprops.

Is FlightFinder free to use?

Search and schedules are free. Pro ($4.99/month, $39/year, or $99 one-time lifetime) unlocks the enriched flight card — on-time stats, CO₂ per passenger, amenities, live gate & weather — plus My Trips with push alerts.

Where does the route data come from?

Live schedules come from Amadeus, AeroDataBox and Travelpayouts. Observed routes (which aircraft actually flew a given city pair) are crowdsourced from adsb.lol ADS-B data under the Open Database License.
