Synopsis

A B727-200 HAD THE L MAIN GEAR BRAKES BLED FOR GRABBING BRAKES RPT AND ON NEXT LNDG HAD NO L BRAKES CAUSED BY THE BRAKE LOCKOUT CYLINDER DEPLETED.

Narrative

ACR MAINT BLED L BRAKE IN ZZZ DUE TO WRITE-UP FOR BRAKE GRABBING. I NOTICED SLIGHTLY HVY BRAKE APPLICATION NECESSARY DURING TAXI OUT; BUT DID NOT SUSPECT A MECHANICAL PROB. UPON LNDG MIA; ACFT YAWED TO R UPON BRAKE APPLICATION; AND THEN I DISCOVERED NO BRAKES AT ALL ON THE L GEAR. I NOW SUSPECT BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING AFTER THE REPAIR IN ZZZ AND WENT UNDETECTED UNTIL LNDG. NEXT TIME I TAXI OUR AFTER BRAKE WORK; I WILL CHK BRAKING ON EACH SIDE INDEPENDENTLY. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE ACFT WAS A B727-200 AND HAD THE L BRAKES BLED BEFORE DEP. THE RPTR SAID ON ARR AT MIA THE L BRAKES DID NOT OPERATE. THE RPTR SAID THE L BRAKE LOCKOUT CYLINDER WAS NOT RESVCED INTO THE GREEN BAND AFTER BLEEDING. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR ACN 436005 REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED AFTER THE BRAKES WERE BLED NO VISIBLE BRAKE LEAKAGE WAS NOTED AND THE CONDITION OF THE LOCKOUT CYLINDER WAS NOT NOTED. THE RPTR SAID IT IS POSSIBLE THE ACFT WAS DISPATCHED WITH THE L BRAKE LOCKOUT CYLINDER DEPLETED.
