Synopsis

DC8 CREW WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR BLAST DAMAGE TO 2 ACFT DURING TAXI OUT.

Narrative

IT IS MY PLEASURE TO ADDRESS TO YOU ON THE FOLLOWING: IN REF TO THE TAXIING FLT ABC; REGISTRATION #DEFG OF TODAY; MAY/XX/99. BTWN THE CARGO RAMP AND INTXN E; WE WERE INSTRUCTED BY GND CTL TO REMAIN IN THE INTXN L TO ENTER THE RWY 26 AND TO TAXI TO INTXN E. THEN THE GND CTL INSTRUCTED US TO CONTINUE TAXIING ON THE TXWY TO INTXN E; AT THAT POINT THE CTL TWR INFORMED US OF AN INCIDENT APPARENTLY CAUSED BY THE AIR FLOW EMITTED BY ONE OF OUR ACFT ENGS. WE VOLUNTARILY RETURNED TO THE CARGO RAMP; WHERE WE COULD VERIFY THAT A DC3 ACFT; THAT WAS PARKED IN THE RAMP; IN FRONT OF INTXN L HAD PIVOTED ON ITS R LNDG GEAR; WITH A ROTATION OF 90 DEGS AND SUFFERING MINOR DAMAGE IN THE RUDDER. IT IS IMPORTANT TO MENTION THAT THIS ACFT WAS NOT AT A REASONABLE DISTANCE WITH THE SURROUNDING ACFT; HAD NO ENGS; WAS NOT ANCHORED OR HAD THE APPROPRIATE TIES; BALLAST; OR CHOCKS. WE CAN ALSO VERIFY THAT A TWIN ENG AIRPLANE; REGISTRATION HIJK; MOVED FROM ITS POS SUFFERING MINOR DAMAGES ON ITS L WING. OUR ACFT 'NEVER' LEFT THE YELLOW LINE THAT MARKS THE CTR OF THE TXWY.
