PLT IN C182 AT BVI TRYING TO BE HELPFUL CAUSES TFC ON FINAL BEHIND HIM TO GO AROUND.
ON THE AFTERNOON OF AUG/MON/99; WE WERE ON A VFR APCH TO A LNDG AT BEAVER COUNTY ARPT IN PA. ON FINAL; WE SUGGESTED TO THE LADY CTLR THAT WE COULD DO A 360 DEG TURN TO LET 2 OTHER ACFT ON THE GND TO TAKE OFF. WE THEN RE-ENTERED FINAL AND LANDED. ON ROLLOUT WE WERE INTENDING TO EXIT THE RWY AT THE FIRST TXWY; BUT SLOWLY ROLLED BY IT. I ASKED THE SAME CTLR FOR A QUICK 180 DEG TURN TO EXIT THE RWY (ACTUALLY A 130 DEG TURN) AND THE CTLR REPLIED 'EXPEDITE.' AS WE CLRED THE RWY THE TWR SENT A CHEROKEE AROUND WHO WAS ABOUT 3/4 MI BEHIND US. WE WERE TOLD TO SWITCH TO GND CTL WHERE AN EXTREMELY AGITATED AND EXCITED MALE CTLR YELLED FOR US TO TAXI TO THE RAMP AND CALL THE TWR. THIS NEW CTLR WAS VERY ANGRY AND PROCEEDED TO EXPLAIN THAT I HAD GREATLY JEOPARDIZED AVIATION SAFETY BY 'GOING NOSE TO NOSE WITH ANOTHER ACFT;' AND HAD CROSSED A HOLD LINE ON THE RAMP. SINCE WE HAD NOT COME 'NOSE TO NOSE' WITH ANOTHER ACFT I WAS UNABLE TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THE PROB WAS; ESPECIALLY SINCE HIS CTLR HAD CLRED US FOR THE TURN OFF THE RWY. I ACTUALLY WAS TRYING TO HELP THE FLOW OF TFC AS WE ALSO DID ON FINAL. THE CONVERSATION WITH THE CTLR WAS SO AGITATED AND CONFUSING THAT IT TOOK ME SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO UNDERSTAND HIS PROB. I HAVE BEEN FLYING FOR 35 YRS WITH AN ATTITUDE OF PROFESSIONALISM AND SAFETY MINDED. I AM A MEMBER OF THE FAA WINGS PROGRAM; PLT GROUP; AND CONDUCT RECURRENT IFR TRAINING IN MY ACFT. I TRY NOT TO FLY IN AN UNSAFE MANNER. HOWEVER; IF I AM OPERATING IN AN UNSAFE MANNER I WOULD WANT TO KNOW ABOUT IT. HOWEVER; IN MY OPINION; AT NO TIME WAS SAFETY COMPROMISED. ACTUALLY; THE OUTBURST BY THE CTLR; BOTH IN HIS CTL TWR AND IN THE FBO'S OFFICE WITH STUDENT PLTS AND FLT INSTRUCTORS; WAS TOTALLY COUNTER PRODUCTIVE AND DIDN'T CONTRIBUTE TO SAFETY IN ANY MANNER. IN FACT; THE DISTURBANCE HE CAUSED WAS VERY DISTRACTING.
