B727 CREW HAD TRACK DEV AT MRY.
CLRED THE MONTEREY EIGHT DEP FROM RWY 28L/R-- READS: 'CLB RWY HEADING UNTIL LEAVING 1000 FT OR AS DIRECTED BY MONTEREY TWR; TURN R TO A 330 DEG HDG FOR VECTOR.' AFTER DEP BEGAN TO YAW R; BECAME DISTRACTED WHILE LOOKING FOR INDICATIONS OF THRUST LOSS; ETC; FOUND PWR NORMAL; ACFT JUST DIFFICULT TO TRIM TO NEUTRAL. THIS RESULTED IN A LATE TURN TO 330 DEGS WHICH CAUSED US TO OVERFLY A 'NOISE SENSITIVE AREA.' FACTORS: HAD BRIEFED FOR A RWY 10R TKOF DUE TO THIS AREA. A SPECIAL ENG OUT PROC WAS PUBLISHED FOR RWY 10R AS WELL SO THAT WAS DISCUSSED IN DETAIL. ON ROTATION; YAW CAUSED DISTR AND BEGAN THOUGHT PROCESS FOR SINGLE ENG PROC FOR RWY 28L (STRAIGHT-OUT; NO TURNS BELOW 1500 FT). OTHER FACTORS: FATIGUE; PREVIOUS DAY 8 HRS; INCLUDING SUBSTANTIALLY HOLDING INTO SFO; PLUS 2 LEGS PRIOR; SUBSTANTIALLY HOLDING DELAY INTO SFO. MINOR DISTRACTIONS LEAD TO OVERLOOKING TURN POINT ON SID. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 447380: DISCUSSED DEP AT GATE; APPROX 10-15 MINS UNTIL ACTUAL FLT. A QUICK REVIEW OF SPECIAL PROC; WHICH OCCURS AT A CRITICAL TIME; PRIOR TO TAKING THE RWY PROBABLY COULD HAVE PREVENTED THE PROB. ANOTHER SOLUTION WOULD BE TO ACTUALLY PUT AIRPLANE SAFETY AHEAD OF NOISE COMPLAINTS.
