AN S80 FLC IS ADVISED BY APCH CTLR THAT THEY ARE NOT INTERCEPTING THE ILS FOR RWY 18R AS CLRED WHEN N OF DFW; TX.

Narrative

THIS EVENT OCCURRED ON MY THIRD DAY OF IOE AND THE FIRST ARR INTO DFW. I WAS THE FO FLYING THE ARR TO DFW FROM TUS BEING VECTORED FOR THE ILS RWY 18R. WHEN INITIALLY VECTORED OFF THE STAR; I TUNED IN THE ILS TO RWY 17R IN ANTICIPATION TO LAND ON THAT RWY. AFTER THE CAPT ASKED THAT I BRIEF THE APCH FOR RWY 18R; I FAILED TO CHANGE THE ILS FREQ OVER TO RWY 18R. APCH CTL GAVE US A HDG OF 150 DEGS AND TO JOIN THE LOC AND CLRED US FOR THE APCH AND TO CONTACT THE TWR. ABOUT THE SAME TIME THE CAPT NOTICED I DID NOT JOIN THE LOC; WE WERE INSTRUCTED BY THE TWR OF OUR DEV AND TO TURN BACK TO JOIN THE APCH. WE COMPLIED AND WERE CLRED TO LAND AND COMPLETED THE APCH WITH NO FURTHER PROBS. LOOKING BACK ON THE EVENT TO FIND WHERE THINGS WENT WRONG; I FOUND THAT I HAD A PRECONCEIVED NOTION THAT WE WERE LNDG ON THE E SIDE OF THE FIELD SINCE COMING FROM THE B727 FE POS THAT WAS WHERE WE LANDED 99% OF THE TIME. ALSO; I BRIEFED THE APCH PLATE WITHOUT DIALING IN THE PUBLISHED ILS FREQ. AND LASTLY; WE FAILED TO XCHK THE DIALED IN FREQS AND CORRECTLY VERIFY THE ILS IDENT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 465570: WRONG ILS FREQ WAS ENTERED IN ERROR; EVEN BRIEFED APCH TO RWY 18R AND IDENTED FO'S FREQ. IOE WAS BEING CONDUCTED AT THE TIME. FO'S FIRST TRIP. I HEARD THE MORSE CODE; BUT NEGLECTED TO CHK PLATE; AS I WAS TRYING TO MONITOR FO HAND FLYING THE APCH.
