Synopsis

POSSIBLE MISSING HOLD ILS HOLD SHORT LINE AT IND; IN.

Narrative

TOLD TO TURN R ON TXWY N AND HOLD SHORT AT HOLD SHORT LINE -- WAS NOT TOLD WHICH HOLD SHORT LINE. AS WE TURNED OFF TXWY A ONTO TXWY N THE ONLY HOLD SHORT LINE WE SAW WAS BTWN THE APCH ENDS OF RWY 23R AND RWY 23L. WE HELD THERE. SUSPECT THAT THE INTENDED HOLD SHORT LINE WAS GOING UNDER THE ACFT NOSE AS WE WERE GIVEN THE HOLD SHORT INSTRUCTIONS; THEREFORE NO CREW MEMBER SAW IT. THE GND CTLR INTENDED THAT WE HOLD SHORT OF APCH END OF RWY 23R. HOWEVER; BY THE TIME WE REALIZED THE HOLD SHORT LINE WE WERE LOOKING AT WAS BEYOND RWY 23R; WE WERE ALREADY PAST THE APCH END OF RWY 23R. SINCE THE HOLD SHORT LINE IS IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE TURN ONTO TXWY N; IF THE CTLR HAD BEEN A LITTLE MORE CLR IN THE DIRECTIONS GIVEN SUCH AS 'TURN ONTO TXWY N AND HOLD SHORT IMMEDIATELY...' IT MAY HAVE PREVENTED THE OCCURRENCE. WE CALLED THE IND TWR THE NEXT DAY AND THE TWR CTLR SAID THEY HAVE REQUESTED THAT THE ARPT PAINT A HOLD SHORT LINE BEFORE THE APCH END OF RWY 23R ON TXWY N; HOWEVER HE WASN'T SURE IT HAD BEEN ACCOMPLISHED YET. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: CALLBACK CLRED UP THE RPT WHICH CALLED FOR A TXWY THAT DID NOT EXIST. TXWY N WAS THE TXWY IN QUESTION.
