FLC OF A B727 TOUCHED DOWN AT APPROX THE SAME TIME THAT A PRECEDING MD80 LIFTED OFF ON TKOF DUE TO THE MD80 BEING DELAYED DUE TO ANOTHER ACFT ROLLING OUT LONG BEFORE TURNING OFF.
APCH CTL ADVISED WE WERE FOLLOWING A B757 AND SPACING WAS ABOUT 5-6 MI. WE SWITCHED TO TWR AND OBSERVED THE B757 ON LNDG ROLLOUT BUT ANOTHER ACFT WAS TAKING POS FOR TKOF ON RWY 27R. TWR SAID NOTHING ABOUT THIS ACFT TO US NOR DID WE HEAR TWR ASKING THE ACFT TO EXPEDITE OR EVEN ADVISING THEM OF AN ACFT ON SHORT FINAL. THE ACFT; A DC9 OR SUPER 80 HAD TO WAIT FOR THE B757 TO CLR BEFORE BEGINNING ITS TKOF ROLL. WE SLOWED TO APCH SPD. I KNEW THE SPACING WAS TIGHT AND BRIEFLY REVIEWED GAR PROCS WITH MY FO; THE PF; AND MY FE. THE ACFT WAS ACCELERATING NICELY AND SEEMED TO BE ABOUT TO ROTATE AS WE PASSED 100 FT AFL. I ALMOST CALLED FOR A GAR BUT NOTED THE ACFT NOSE START TO COME UP AND THE POTENTIAL CONFLICT AND NEED FOR LOW ALT MANEUVERING IF WE DID GO AROUND. EVEN IN THE FLARE THE ACFT WAS STILL ON THE GND BUT IT DID SEEM TO LIFT OFF JUST AS WE TOUCHED DOWN. TWR SAID NOTHING TO US. IN RETROSPECT I SHOULD HAVE CALLED FOR A GAR BTWN 200 FT AND 100 FT AGL. I BELIEVE TWR SHOULD NOT HAVE TRIED TO GET THIS DEP OFF AND SHOULD HAVE ASKED HIM TO EXPEDITE OR COORDINATED WITH APCH CTL FOR US TO SLOW TO APCH SPD SOONER. IF I WERE TO FACE THE SAME SIT I WOULD GO AROUND BTWN 100 FT AND 200 FT AGL.
