Synopsis

A B727-200 REJECTED TKOF AT LOW SPD DUE TO #3 ENG OIL PRESSURE SLOW TO RISE AND LOW PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT CAUSED BY COLD SOAKED OIL.

Narrative

WE DID A DELAYED START ON #3 ENG ON TAXI OUT TO RWY 8 IN ZZZ. ALL INDICATIONS WERE NORMAL WHEN WE TOOK THE RWY FOR TKOF. OIL TEMP WAS 41 DEGS C; OIL PRESSURE WAS 40 PSI. WE WERE MAKING A ROLLING TKOF AND THE FO WAS FLYING. WHEN THE THROTTLES WERE PUSHED UP FOR INITIAL STABILIZATION; WE GOT AN OIL PRESSURE LIGHT ON #3 ENG. THE PWR LEVERS WERE BROUGHT BACK TO IDLE AND EXITED AT THE FIRST TURNOFF; WHICH WAS RWY 8. WE TOLD THE TWR WE NEEDED TO EXIT THE RWY AND HE CLRED US TO A RUNUP PAD; WHICH WAS RIGHT WHERE WE EXITED. WE SURMISED THAT THE OIL MIGHT STILL BE A LITTLE COLD; REGARDLESS OF THE OIL TEMP BEING IN THE GREEN; DUE TO A COLD SOAKED ENG; AND THE OUTSIDE AIR TEMP BEING 45 DEGS F. WE ELECTED TO DO AN ENG RUNUP AT 80% OF N2 AND DID NOT GET THE LIGHT AGAIN. WE FELT THAT ALL WAS ALRIGHT WITH THE ENG AND PROCEEDED ON WITH A NORMAL TKOF AND FLT TO XXX WITH NO OTHER PROBS OCCURRING. WE DID NOT ENTER ANYTHING IN THE ACFT LOGBOOK BECAUSE WE FELT THAT NO MAINT PROB EXISTED -- NOTHING TO FIX. OUR GOM DOES STATE THAT IF A MECHANICAL PROB EXISTS AND A REJECTED TKOF IS MADE; TO RETURN TO THE GATE. WE DIDN'T HAVE A MECHANICAL PROB -- JUST COLD OIL EVEN AFTER A 3 MIN WARM-UP; AND THE OIL TEMP AND PRESSURE IN THE GREEN.
