CL65 FO MISPLACED COMPANY WT AND BAL PAPERWORK AT TYS.
ON NOV/XA/00; I WAS THE FO ON ACR FLT ABC CVG-TYS. I CONDUCTED THE PREFLT AND WENT INTO THE FLT DECK TO DO MY PAPERWORK. ALL NECESSARY PERFORMANCE AND LOAD MANIFEST PAPERWORK WAS COMPLETED. I SIGNED THE MANIFEST; HANDED IT TO THE CAPT AND HE VERIFIED IT WAS CORRECT. HE HANDED IT OUT TO THE FLT ATTENDANTS AND WE LEFT FOR AN UNEVENTFUL; NORMAL FLT TO KNOXVILLE. THE NEXT AFTERNOON; THE LAST DAY OF MY TRIP; I COLLECTED ALL MY 4 MANIFEST ENVELOPES TO HAND THEM IN THE DEPOSIT BOX. I NOTICED THAT THE MANIFEST WAS MISSING. I THOUGHT I MAY HAVE LEFT IT IN THE ACFT; OR IN ONE OF THE OTHER ENVELOPES. I WENT TO THE MANIFEST CLERK AND ADVISED HER THAT I WAS MISSING THE MANIFEST. SHE TOLD ME TO CONTINUE LOOKING AND TO BRING IT IN WHEN I FOUND IT. I ASKED HER IF THERE IS ANY WAY I COULD OBTAIN THE CARBON COPY OF THE PAPERWORK AND SHE SAID TO ME THAT THEY THROW THEM OUT. LATER THAT AFTERNOON; I CALLED DISPATCH AND ASKED THEM FOR A COPY OF THE DISPATCH RELEASE. HE FAXED ME A COPY AND AGAIN I ASKED IF THERE WAS ANY WAY TO OBTAIN A COPY OF THE MANIFEST. HE TOLD ME NO; THEY THROW THEM OUT. ON NOV/XB/00; I STOPPED BY THE MANIFEST CLERK TO GIVE HER THE COPY OF THE DISPATCH RELEASE AND TOLD HER THAT MAYBE I MAY HAVE LEFT IT IN THE OTHER ENVELOPES; OR IT MAY HAVE BEEN LEFT IN THE ACFT. SHE TOLD ME TO SEE A CHIEF PLT AND I DID; AND I ADVISED HIM AND TOLD HIM THE SIT. LATER THAT AFTERNOON; I FOUND A RAMP AGENT AND ASKED HIM AS A LAST DITCH EFFORT IF THEY KEEP COPIES; AND HE SAID YES. EACH WING KEEPS THEM FOR 1 WK. IF THIS INFO WAS MORE CONCRETE AND THE OTHER EMPLOYEES WERE IN THE LOOP; I WOULD HAVE A COPY AND THERE WOULD NOT BE ANY DOUBT AS TO WHAT IS GOING ON. THIS WAS A LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR ME. I WAS; AND AM NOW EVEN MORE CAREFUL WITH ALL MY PAPERWORK AND VOW TO BE EVEN MORE CAREFUL IN MY AIRLINE CAREER. IF THE CLERK OR DISPATCHER KNEW ABOUT THE 7 DAY RULE; IT WOULD'VE BEEN A GREAT HELP. AS FOR THE FLT; IT DEPARTED WITHIN NORMAL LIMITS. THIS CAN BE VERIFIED BY THE PAX COUNT; FUEL AND BAG COUNT. THE RWY IN USE WAS RWY 18L FULL LENGTH CVG.
