Synopsis

A FLT ATTENDANT RPT ON THE LOSS OF HYDS CREATING AN EMER TFC SIT AND STRESS FOR THE CABIN CREW INTO MEX; FO.

Narrative

APPROX 1 HR FROM LNDG IN MEXICO CITY; OUR PURSER SUMMONED US TO THE GALLEY TO DISCUSS THE IMPENDING EMER LNDG AS A RESULT OF HYD LEAKS. SINCE THE CAPT DECLARED AN EMER WE HAD PRIORITY TO LAND AND EXPECTED FIRE AND RESCUE AVAILABLE TO US. AFTER SOME DISCUSSION; WE PREPARED THE CABIN WITHOUT ALARMING PAX; ALTHOUGH EARLIER THAN NORMAL; AND WITHOUT OUR MANUAL CHKLIST IN VIEW OF PAX. THE COCKPIT AND CABIN CREW COMMUNICATED QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS EFFICIENTLY BTWN ONE ANOTHER THROUGH OUR PURSER WHO WAS CALM AND PROFESSIONAL THROUGHOUT OUR SIT. CAPT EXPLAINED SIT APPROX 25 MINS PRIOR TO LNDG; PAX REMAINED CALM AND WE LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. MGMNT DEMONSTRATED A LACK OF CONCERN FOR AN EXHAUSTED STRESSED CABIN CREW BY REFUSING TO RELEASE US TO RETURN HOME AS OUR NEEDS REQUIRED. INSTEAD WHILE COCKPIT MET WITH FEDERAL OFFICIALS WE WERE LEFT IN LIMBO TO BEG CREW TRACKING TO ACCOMMODATE OUR DIVERSE NEEDS. AFTER ALMOST 1 HR; THE KIND AGENTS IN MEXICO FED US AND WE RETIRED TO OUR HOTEL TO 'DEADHOME' THE NEXT DAY. PERHAPS TRACKING NEEDS MORE TRAINING TO DEAL WITH IRREGULAR EMER SITS. I'M VERY PROUD OF MY CO-WORKERS AND AGENTS IN MEXICO WHO HELPED TO MANAGE THE PAX AND CREW NEEDS POST INCIDENT.
