BE58 PLT LWOC AT CLT.
ON APCH TO CLT; I WAS VECTORED VERY CLOSE TO THE ARPT AND INSTRUCTED TO MAINTAIN 9000 FT. AS I ENTERED THE DOWNWIND LEG FOR RWY 36R AT 9000 FT; I WAS GIVEN CLRNC TO DSND TO 3000 FT AND A TURN TO BASE ONCE ABLE. I QUICKLY DSNDED; TURNED BASE AND WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD GET APCH CLRNC CLOSER IN (I WAS AT THAT TIME 4 NM FROM THE ARPT). AT ABOUT 3.5 MI FROM ARPT; I WAS CLRED FOR THE VISUAL APCH. I HAD TO LOSE QUITE A BIT OF ALT; SO I HURRIED TO GET STABILIZED AND IN THE LNDG CONFIGN. I DID NOT RECEIVE A HDOF TO TWR AND IN MY HASTE TO LAND; DID SO WITHOUT CONTACTING TWR FOR CLRNC. MY MISTAKE DAWNED ON ME AFTER TOUCHDOWN WHERE I CALLED TWR TO INFORM THAT I WAS ALREADY ON THE GND. I WAS CLRED FOR TAXI WITH NO REQUEST FOR A CALL TO TWR. CAUSE OF INCIDENT: MY HURRIED APCH TO THE CLT ARPT; FAILING TO CALL THE TWR; FAILURE TO NOT RECOGNIZE THAT I WAS STILL WITH APCH. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: APCH CLRNC HIGH AND VERY NEAR THE ARPT; CONTACT WITH APCH UNTIL 2-3 MI FROM THE ARPT WITH NO VERBAL HDOF TO THE TWR (LAST INSTRUCTION FROM APCH WAS 2-3 MI OUT). THE LAST APCHS I HAD MADE EARLIER IN THE NIGHT HAD BOTH BEEN VISUAL WITH THE CLRNC 'CLRED FOR THE VISUAL; CLRED TO LAND.' THIS MIGHT HAVE ALSO BEEN A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR.
