MD80 FLT CREW IS DISTR WHEN A FLT ATTENDANT COMES INTO THE COCKPIT AND THE FO INTERCEPTS THE WRONG VOR RADIAL.
DURING AR TO CLE; WE WERE CLRED TO INTERCEPT THE 'ARR RADIAL.' FO FLYING. CAPT WAS TO MONITOR. COCKPIT CHIME RANG; WITH DOOR KNOCK. FLT ATTENDANT WAS AT THE DOOR. CAPT USED ELECTRIC DOOR UNLOCK TO ALLOW HER IN. I (CAPT) THEN WAS INVOLVED IN ANSWERING HER QUESTIONS. AT THE CONCLUSION; SHE LEFT THE COCKPIT. AS I TURNED BACK TO MONITOR; CTR ASKED IF WE WERE IN A TURN TO INTERCEPT. I SAID YES; AS WE WERE IN A TURN; ROLLING OUT. I LOOKED AT THE INSTS AND REALIZED THE FO HAD INTERCEPTED THE WRONG RADIAL (322 DEG VERSUS CORRECT 040 DEG RADIAL). KEATN 2 ARR (KEATN.KEATN2). FO HAD CORRECT VOR (RVR); BUT WAS USING 322 DEG RADIAL AS DEPICTED FOR BSV. I IMMEDIATELY COMMANDED R TURN TO CORRECT; ALSO CTR ASKED IF WE WERE IN A 'R' TURN. I SAID YES. ATC DIRECTED 080 DEGS TO INTERCEPT 040 DEGS. NO KNOWN ACFT CONFLICTS. NO COMMENTS FROM ATC. NORMAL VECTORING TO PUT US OVER KEATN AND SWITCH TO APCH. AT MOST SEPARATION; WE WERE ABOUT 15 MI W OF TVT 040 DEG RADIAL; OUTBOUND ON 322 DEG RADIAL. DISTR; 2-MAN COCKPIT; AND SLOW ATC CORRECTION ALLOWED SIGNIFICANT PLT ERROR AS FO WAS CONFUSED. WE WERE ABOVE 'STERILE COCKPIT' ALT. CAPT SHOULD HAVE MONITORED TURN; EVEN WITH THE DISTR.
