Synopsis

B757 FLC HAD DIFFICULTY FINDING THE TXWY INTXN DURING TAXI OUT DUE TO A LACK OF ARPT DIAGRAM MARKINGS. IN ADDITION; THEY MISTAKENLY TURNED OFF OF DEP RADIAL PRIOR TO BEING CLRED.

Narrative

CLRNC RECEIVED ON GND WAS CLB TO 6000 FT ON RWY HDG AND TURN L ON COURSE TO PROCEED VIA UG449 FPR. AFTER TKOF; PIARCO TWR INSTRUCTED US TO TURN L AFTER PASSING THE POS 065 DEG RADIAL. I VERIFIED THESE INSTRUCTIONS WITH A READBACK AND THE TWR CTLR SAID ROGER. WE TURNED L AFTER THE 065 DEG RADIAL; AS INSTRUCTED. A MOMENT LATER; TWR ASKED ABOUT OUR COURSE. THE CTLR THEN INSTRUCTED THAT WE SHOULD BE OUTBOUND ON THE 065 DEG RADIAL. WE TURNED BACK TOWARD THE RADIAL AND COMPLIED WITH THEIR INSTRUCTION. THE CTLR WAS VERY ABBREVIATED IN ALL HER INSTRUCTIONS WHICH CONTRIBUTED TO THE COM CONFUSION. AS I SAID BEFORE; I READ BACK HER INSTRUCTIONS VERBATIM AND THE CAPT VERIFIED MY READBACK. WE DEFINITELY HEARD HER INSTRUCTIONS; BUT HER INTENTIONS AND DIRECTIONS TO US WERE MISCOMMUNICATED. NO TFC CONFLICTS APPEARED TO HAVE OCCURRED AS A RESULT. IN ADDITION; FOR INFO PURPOSES; THERE IS NO ARPT DIAGRAM FOR THE NEW N TERMINAL. RAMP CTL AND GND CTL ROUTINELY GIVE CLRNCS TO TAXI TO INTXN Z AND INTXN O AND THERE ARE NO MARKINGS FOR THESE INTXNS; EITHER IN THE ARPT PUBS OR ON THE ARPT ITSELF.
