AN HS125 MADE A GAR DUE TO LNDG GEAR INDICATION CAUSED BY A FAILED BULB. FAA SAFETY INSPECTOR MAINTAINS ACFT MUST BE JACKED AND GEAR SWING CHK ACCOMPLISHED.
ON NOV/FRI/01; AT XA50 WE WERE CLRED FOR THE ILS TO RWY 6 AT ZZZ AND CIRCLE TO LAND RWY 1. AT THE OM WE LOWERED THE GEAR; AND WE HAD NO RED WITH 2 GREEN INDICATION FOR THE L MAIN AND NOSEWHEEL. THE R MAIN GREEN LIGHT WAS NOT ILLUMINATED. WE THEN PROCEEDED TO CHK THE AUX GEAR INDICATORS. THIS SHOWED THE GEAR WAS DOWN. TO VERIFY THIS WAS CORRECT WE ASKED THE TWR FOR A FLY-BY TO DOUBLE CHK THE GEAR WAS DOWN. THEIR RESPONSE TO THE FLY-BY WAS THAT IT APPEARED DOWN AND LOCKED; THEN THEY PROCEEDED TO CLR US FOR R CLOSE TFC FOR RWY 1 AND CLRED US TO LAND. IN THE TFC PATTERN WE QUICKLY CHANGED THE BULB TO GIVE US 1 MORE INDICATION (FOR A TOTAL OF 3). THIS CORRECTED THE PROB; AS AT THAT POINT BEFORE LNDG WE HAD ALL 3 GREEN LIGHTS FOR THE LNDG GEAR. WE LANDED WITHOUT A PROB OR DECLARING AN EMER. WE CONTINUED THE TRIP WITHOUT ANY PROBS ABOVE. ON NOV/TUE/01 AT XA55 MST I WAS CONTACTED BY THE FSDO THAT COVERS ZZZ AND DISCUSSED THE PROB. HE ASKED FOR THE LOGBOOK ENTRY FOR THIS BULB CHANGE. I STATED THAT A MECH SAID IT WAS NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS CHANGE. I CALLED OUR MECH AND ASKED HIM IF A LOGBOOK ENTRY WAS REQUIRED; HE STATED NO. THEN I ASKED HIM TO CONTACT THE FSDO TO SEE WHAT EXACTLY HE (THE INSPECTOR) WANTED FOR A LOGBOOK ENTRY. WHEN OUR MECH TALKED WITH THE INSPECTOR HE STATED THAT WE SHOULD HAVE HAD OR DONE A FULL GEAR SWING TEST ALONG WITH A GEAR SYS TEST; AND WANTED A FAXED COPY OF THE LOGBOOK ENTRY ASAP. THIS WAS DONE BY XG00 MST. THE GEAR SWING AND SYS TEST IS NOT REQUIRED AFTER CHANGING A BULB WITHIN THAT SYS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MAINT MANUALS.
