Synopsis

BE10 PLT MADE CIRCLING APCH TO TOUCHDOWN ZONE IN POOR WX. HIGH APCH RESULTED IN UNSTABILIZED APCH; LONG LNDG.

Narrative

AT APPROX XA15 I RECEIVED THE WX (AUTO) FROM TDZ. IT RPTED 200 FT OVCST; VISIBILITY MISSING. (TOL) WAS RPTING 100 FT OVCST; VISIBILITY 2 1/2 MI WITH RAIN. YIP WAS RPTING 3400 FT BROKEN; 5 MI VISIBILITY. THE ACFT WAS A BEECH KING AIR B100. I HAVE 1200 LBS OF FUEL; MYSELF AND A COMPANY EMPLOYEE ON BOARD. I STARTED THE GPS RWY 4 APCH AT TOLEDO METCALF AND UPON REACHING STRAIGHT-IN MINIMUMS; I WAS NOT IN A POS TO LAND DUE TO VISIBILITY 4 MI. THE VISIBILITY TO THE N WAS IMPROVING SO I ENTERED A L DOWNWIND FOR RWY 22 TO CIRCLE. AS I WAS CIRCLING; I WAS WATCHING THE RWY AND UPON ROLLING OUT ON FINAL; I SAW I WAS TOO HIGH. I CLOSED THE THROTTLES AND SELECTED 60% FLAPS AND TOUCHED DOWN APPROX 1/3 - 1/2 WAY DOWN THE 3400 FT RWY. UPON STOPPING; I HAD APPROX 800 FT OF RWY REMAINING. I FEEL I SHOULD HAVE STAYED ON THE MISSED APCH AND DIVERTED. HOWEVER; BEING DISTR BY KEEPING THE RWY IN SIGHT DID NOT ALLOW MYSELF ENOUGH ROOM TO DSND. AT NO TIME DID I GO BELOW MDH OR EXCEED ACFT OR COMPANY POLICY GUIDELINES.
