Synopsis

G1159 CREW TRYING TO CLR UP A DISCREPANCY WITH THEIR CLRNC BECOME DISTRACTED WHILE TAXIING TO THE RWY.

Narrative

WE ARRIVED AT THE ACFT 2 HRS PRIOR TO SCHEDULED DEP. OUR PAX WERE APPROX 1 HR EARLY. WE TOOK OUR TIME TO FINISH ALL PREFLT PREPARATIONS; STARTED ENGS AND TAXIED OUT TO RWY 13L AFTER RECEIVING A TAXI CLRNC FROM GND CTL. I WAS TAXIING AND THE COPLT INFORMED ME OF A DISCREPANCY IN OUR CLRNC TO SBA. I ASKED HIM TO CLARIFY WITH CLRNC DELIVERY; WHICH TOOK AWAY FROM HIS FOCUS ON OUR TAXI. IT BECAME APPARENT THAT THE CLRNC; WHICH WAS GIVEN TO US WAS VERY WRONG; AS MANY FIXES DID NOT COINCIDE WITH OUR FILED RTE. THE COPLT BECAME QUITE INVOLVED WITH TRYING TO FIX THE ROUTING WITH CLRNC DELIVERY. MY ATTN WAS DIVIDED BTWN TAXIING THE G2 AND THE COM WHICH TOOK PLACE BTWN THE COPLT AND ATC. I DETERMINED THAT IT WOULD BE SAFER TO DISCONTINUE THE TAXI AND PULLED INTO THE INTXN PRIOR TO XING RWY 18; WHICH WE HAD BEEN CLRED TO CROSS BY VIRTUE OF OUR GND CLRNC TO TAXI TO RWY 13L. ATC ADVISED US THAT WE WERE TO CONTINUE TO THE END. WE PROCEEDED PER THEIR INSTRUCTION SAFELY. MUCH OF OUR ATTN WAS DIVERTED AWAY FROM OUR PRIMARY DUTY TO TAXI FROM THE RAMP TO THE END OF THE RWY. SHOULD THIS SIT OCCUR AGAIN; I WOULD ELECT NOT TO TAKE CARE OF THE CORRECTION WHILE TAXIING AND WAIT UNTIL REACHING A SAFE RUN-UP AREA.
