A BE35 PLT; WHILE MAKING A FLY-BY OF AN AGRICULTURAL STRIP; MADE CONTACT WITH AN ELECTRICAL WIRE.
I DEPARTED FOR WAGNER FIELD BUT WAS UNABLE TO FIND THE FIELD. I LANDED AT SMF ARPT FOR DIRECTIONS; AND THEN CONTINUED TOWARD WAGNER. AFTER MUCH SEARCHING; I FOUND WHAT APPEARED TO BE THE AGRICULTURAL FIELD IN QUESTION. I WANTED TO DO A FLY-BY AND INSPECT THE ARPT; AS I WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH THE AREA AND THE ARPT. I EXTENDED MY LNDG GEAR AND 20 DEGS OF FLAPS TO ENABLE A SLOW APCH OVER THE STRIP. ON REVIEWING THE AREA I NOTED PWR LINES; HIGH TENSION PWR LINES AND PEOPLE ON THE LNDG STRIP; NOT OFF TO THE SIDE AS I HAD PREVIOUSLY THOUGHT. I IMMEDIATELY DID A R TURN TO INITIATE A DEP FROM THE AREA. SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETING MY DEP FROM THAT LOCATION; I PROCEEDED TO MY NEXT INTENDED LNDG AT CAMERON PARK ARPT WITHOUT INCIDENT. I RETURNED TO THE CAMERON PARK ARPT; DID A PREFLT IN THE DARK; AND DEPARTED FOR HOME. I LANDED AT APPROX XA30; TAXIED TO MY TIE-DOWN; AND PUT THE ACFT UP. AT XR00 THE NEXT DAY; A PERSON WHO SOMETIMES FLIES MY ACFT CALLED TO INFORM ME THAT THERE WAS SOME DAMAGE ON THE LEADING EDGE OF THE WING ON THE PAX'S SIDE. I WENT TO THE ARPT TO INSPECT THE DAMAGE AND SUSPECTED THE PLANE HAD BEEN DAMAGED AT CAMERON PARK. LATER THAT DAY; AN FAA INSPECTOR INQUIRING WHETHER I HAD BEEN IN THE SACRAMENTO AREA AND WAGNER FIELD ON THE OTHER DAY AT ABOUT X100 CALLED ME. I RESPONDED AFFIRMATIVELY AND WAS ADVISED THAT A BONANZA ACFT MEETING MY DESCRIPTION HAD STRUCK AN ELECTRICAL WIRE AND WAS I THAT AIRMAN AND ACFT. I RELATED WHAT I KNEW AT THE TIME AND WAS ADVISED THAT AT SOME POINT I SHOULD CONTACT HIM TO ARRANGE TO SHOW ALL MY ACFT AND PLT DOCUMENTATION.
