Synopsis

T-6 PLT HIT A PARKED C150 WHEN TAXIING OUT OF A FBO.

Narrative

ACFT WAS PARKED ON THE RAMP IN FRONT OF THE FBO. JUST COMPLETED A BFR. PLANNED TO FLY HOME (EUG) FROM THE UNCTLED MUNICIPAL ARPT (CVO). NOSE OF ACFT WAS SW. AFTER ENG START; PROCEEDED FORWARD AT A SLOW PACE; MAKING A SLIGHT L; THEN A SLOW R S-TURN FOR VISIBILITY. PLT'S ATTN WAS DIVERTED BECAUSE OF A C182; WHICH WAS TAXIING FROM HIS 5 O'CLOCK POS TOWARDS HT. DURING THE SECONDS WHICH FOLLOWED; PLT'S ACFT COLLIDED WITH A PARKED C150. PLT NEVER SAW THE OTHER PARKED ACFT. AD DISCUSSED IN THE 'EVENT/SIT' SECTION; T-6 COLLIDED WHILE TAXIING SW WITH A PARKED C150 ON THE RAMP. PLT NEVER SAW THE C150; EVEN THOUGH I TAXIED WITH CAUTION AND SLOWLY; STARTING WITH AN S-TURN. UPON IMPACT; PLT CUT ENG IMMEDIATELY; AND EXITED THE T-6. NO INJURIES WERE RPTED. DAMAGE TO T-6 WAS MINOR: A FEW SEVERE NICKS IN THE PROP AND 1 'FIST-SIZE' DENT IN THE L; WHICH WAS JUST ABOVE THE L MAIN GEAR. C150 WAS DESTROYED FROM THE TAIL SECTION UP TO 3 FT AFT OF THE COCKPIT. C150'S TAIL WAS PARKED +/-200 FT; FACING NE; AND AT 12 O'CLOCK POS; NOSE SE.
