Synopsis

FLC ASSUMES POS AND HOLD CLRNC WAS FOR THEM AS THEY CROSS HOLD SHORT LINE BEFORE STOPPING.

Narrative

TAXI INSTRUCTIONS WERE TO TAXI TO RWY 12L VIA TXWY C. WE WERE TOLD TO FOLLOW A B757 ON TXWY P. AFTER THE B757 TOOK POS AND HOLD ON RWY 12L WE WERE TOLD TO PULL UP TO #1 SPOT FOR TKOF. WE BOTH HEARD TO TAKE POS AND HOLD AND READ THE CLRNC BACK. THE CLRNC WAS NOT FOR US. AS WE WERE TAXIING FOR POS AND WERE 'CLRING L AND R' I SAW AN ACR JET ALSO TAXIING FOR THE RWY. HE WAS TAXIING ON RWY 6. WE HAD ALREADY SLIGHTLY CROSSED THE HOLD SHORT LINE AND STOPPED. WE NOTIFIED TWR WE HAD CROSSED THE HOLD SHORT LINE. AFTER THE OTHER ACFT DEPARTED; WE WERE TOLD TO CROSS RWY 12L; TURN L AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 12L ON RWY 24. A B767 LANDED AND THEN A GROUP OF FIGHTERS LANDED. WE THEN TOOK OFF. OUR XING OVER THE HOLD SHORT LINE DID NOT AFFECT DEPS OR ARRS. WE HAD NO AFFECT ON TFC FLOW WHATSOEVER. AFTER DEP; THE TWR ASKED US TO CALL THE TWR ON ARR AT DEST. WE CALLED BACK TO THE TWR AND I TALKED TO THE MGR; AND HE EXPLAINED THE 'POS AND HOLD' CLRNC WAS NOT FOR US. HE TOLD ME BASICALLY TO TRY AND BE MORE VIGILANT IN THE #1 POS AND TO REMAIN TASK FREE WHEN #1. EXCELLENT SUGGESTIONS. HE ALSO STATED THERE SHOULD BE NO FURTHER ACTION.
