Synopsis

A D328 CREW; TAXIING FOR TKOF AT ABQ; TAXIED ACROSS A HOLD SHORT LINE.

Narrative

ON TAXI OUT FROM ABQ; OUR ORIGINAL TAXI CLRNC WAS 'A3' HOLD SHORT OF RWY 26. AS WE APCHED A3; OUR TAXI CLRNC WAS AMENDED. THIS AMENDMENT CONTAINED A CLRNC TO CROSS A RWY AND TO MAKE A TURN AND HOLD SHORT OF ANOTHER RWY. WE WERE EXPECTING TO GET CLRED ACROSS AT A3. HOWEVER; WE WERE CLRED TO CROSS RWY 17; TURN ON TXWY D; HOLD SHORT OF RWY 26. WHILE THIS WAS GOING ON; I WAS DISTR WITH TAXI CHKS AND INFORMING THE FLT ATTENDANT ABOUT A PIREP GND CTL HAD JUST READ ABOUT SEVERE TURB ON DEP AND TO PREPARE FOR TURB ON DEP. WHEN MY ATTN WAS DIRECTED BACK; I ASKED THE FO IF WE WERE CLRED TO CROSS. HE SAID 'YES; CLRED TO CROSS.' AS WE CROSSED THE HOLD SHORT LINE; ATC SAID 'STOP.' I DON'T KNOW OF ANY TFC CONFLICT. HOWEVER; THERE WAS MISUNDERSTANDING BTWN OUR COCKPIT AND ATC. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: 1) TAXI CLRNC CHANGE. 2) ALL OTHER VISITS TO THIS ARPT CLRED SAME RTE. 3) DISTRS WITH TAXI CHKS. 4) DISTR WITH FLT ATTENDANT ABOUT TURB. 5) FO NOT READING BACK CLRNC. 6) MY NOT QUERYING ATC WHEN I DID NOT HEAR THE CLRNC. 7) DOING TOO MANY THINGS AT ONCE SHOULD HAVE STOPPED ACFT; TOOK CARE OF DISTRS; QUERY ATC.
