C152 PLT ENTERED A TFR IN ZID CLASS E.
THE SIT THAT AROSE MAY/MON/03; WAS BASED ON MY ENTRY INTO A TFR. THIS TFR WAS PUT INTO EFFECT IN INDIANAPOLIS THAT DAY. TO BEGIN; THE WX AROUND INDIANA; THE 3 DAYS PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT; WAS NOT CONDUCIVE TO SMALL; SINGLE ENG FLT. AT TIMES THE WINDS HAD BEEN GUSTING TO UPWARDS OF 30 KTS; BUT AS DUSK FELL MAY/MON/03; THEY HAD CALMED DOWN QUITE NICELY. I JUMPED AT THE OPPORTUNITY OF GOING TO DO TOUCH AND GOES. AT ABOUT XA00 PM THAT EVENING; I PULLED THE C152 OUT OF THE HANGAR AND PREPARED TO DEPART. IRONICALLY; THERE WERE EVEN A COUPLE OF PLTS AT THE HANGARS WHO WAVED ME OFF. THEY MENTIONED NOTHING OF THE RESTR TO ME; SO I ASSUME THAT THEY THEMSELVES WERE NOT EVEN AWARE OF IT. I LIFTED OFF OF THE PAVEMENT AT EAGLE CREEK ARPT; INADVERTENTLY; INTO WHAT I WOULD LATER FIND OUT WAS RESTR AIRSPACE. AFTER APPROX 3 MINS OF FLT ENRTE TO A SMALL NEARBY ARPT; BOONE COUNTY ARPT; I WAS CONTACTED BY A GENTLEMAN ON THE CTAF WHO TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A TFR ALL AROUND THE EAGLE CREEK ARPT. HE ALSO INCLUDED THE FACT THAT I WAS BEING PURSUED BY FIGHTERS. I RESPONDED IMMEDIATELY AND TURNED BACK WITHOUT DELAY TO THE ARPT. I DID NOT REALLY KNOW WHAT TO THINK OF WHAT I HAD JUST HEARD. OBVIOUSLY; I HAD BEEN PICKED UP ON RADAR. I WAS TOLD THEN TO CONTACT THE SUPVR OF ZID UPON LNDG AND WAS PASSED OVER TO INDIANAPOLIS APCH. CLRED TO LAND AT EAGLE CREEK; I PROCEEDED TO TOUCH DOWN; PARKED THE PLANE; AND MOVED TO A PHONE TO MAKE THE CALL. NEEDLESS TO SAY; I WAS DISTRESSED. I HAD NO INTENTION OF CREATING A PROB THAT WOULD LEAD TO SUCH AN OCCURRENCE. TO BE HONEST; I HAD BEEN COMPLETELY UNAWARE OF THE PRESIDENT'S PRESENCE IN TOWN. BASED ON MY INTENTIONS OF MAKING A VERY SHORT AND LCL FLT WHICH REQUIRED NO FLT PLAN; I NEGLECTED TO SPEAK WITH FLT SVC. MY PREFLT PLANNING WAS TO THE EXTENT OF CHKING ASOS. WHEN I THINK ABOUT THIS; I FIND MYSELF CONSTANTLY QUESTIONING HOW I COULD HAVE UNKNOWINGLY ENTERED THIS SIT. IN MY RELATIVELY SHORT EXPERIENCE AS A PLT; I HAVE CALLED FLT SVC AS AN ASSURANCE OF WX CONDITIONS; AND NOTICES TO AIRMEN. I CAN HONESTLY SAY; HOWEVER; THAT IT HAS NOT BEEN A REINFORCED PRACTICE TO CALL PRIOR TO LCL FLTS FOR TOUCH AND GOES. AS AN INSTRUCTOR; I WILL MAKE IT MY DUTY TO ENSURE THAT MY STUDENTS NEVER LEAVE THE GND WITHOUT A BRIEFING. IN ADDITION; I AM WONDERING IF NOTAMS OF THIS NATURE COULD BE INCLUDED IN THE BASIC SURFACE OBSERVATION AT THE ARPT (ASOS OR AWOS). I DO NOT EVEN LEAVE THE HOUSE TO GO TO THE ARPT UNTIL I HAVE CALLED TO LISTEN TO THE CURRENT CONDITIONS; AND HAD THE NOTAM BEEN INCLUDED; I WOULD NOT HAVE FOUND MYSELF IN THIS SERIOUS PREDICAMENT. IN THIS WAY; I BELIEVE THAT THERE WOULD BE FEW OF THESE INCIDENTS IF ANY.
