B737-500 CREW GOT A MOMENTARY STICK SHAKER AT V2 +16 KTS JUST AFTER LIFTOFF AT ORD.
SAT AT GATE WHILE LOADING OF BAGS TOOK LONGER THAN NORMAL. CART AFTER CART ARRIVED AND THEY SHUT AND OPENED DOORS REPEATEDLY. ASKED GATE MECH IF SHORT ON MANPOWER AND SAID MAYBE BUT HE HAD NOT SEEN SO MANY BAGS PUT ON THE B737; THAT THEY WERE LOOKING FOR PLACES TO PUT THE BAGS. TAXIED AWAY FROM GATE AND GOT FINAL WTS VERY QUICKLY. LOADED FINAL WTS INTO FMC AND WT DROPPED A LITTLE FROM PLANNED AS DID THE PAX COUNT. TKOF ROLL ON RWY 32L WAS NORMAL. WT WAS APPROX 116000 LBS. CAPT WAS FLYING. ROTATION APPEARED NORMAL. CALLED FOR GEAR UP; FO PULLED GEAR AND JUST AS HIS HAND LEFT GEAR HANDLE; WE GOT A MOMENTARY STICK SHAKER AT 164 KTS ON THE SPD TAPE. CAPT IMMEDIATELY LOWERED NOSE SLIGHTLY AND INCREASED PWR. ALL DONE SIMULTANEOUSLY. STICK SHAKER STOPPED. ACFT FELT A LITTLE MUSHY AND MUCH HEAVIER THAN A 116000 LB AIRPLANE SHOULD HAVE. WE WERE AT FLAPS 1 DEG AND ALL LEADING EDGE AND TRAILING FLAPS SHOWED GREEN; DOWN AND LOCKED. CONTINUED CLB UNEVENTFULLY. CONTACTED DISPATCH AND ASKED THEM TO CONTACT LOAD PLANNING AT ORD TO DOUBLECHK THE WTS. THE FIRST TIME THEY SAID ALL WAS OK AND CHKED OUT. UPON CLBING OUT OF FL325 AT SPD .74 MACH; WE WERE ONLY GETTING 300-700 FPM. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT NORMAL FOR A 112000 LB ACFT (APPROX WT AFTER CLB). CONTACTED DISPATCH AGAIN AND ASKED TO FOLLOW UP ON THIS. HE GOT BACK TO US AFTER A COUPLE OF MINS AND SAID ORD IS NOW SAYING ORD MISSTATED LOAD BY AT LEAST 1500 LBS AS 37 OF THE BAGS; ETC; WERE HEAVIER THAN NORMAL. I REALLY FEEL THAT THE WT WAS OFF MORE THAN THAT AS ACFT PERFORMED LIKE A MUCH HEAVIER ACFT. CALLED AND TOLD THEM OF OUR STICK SHAKER AND MADE THE APPROPRIATE LOGBOOK ENTRY. LNDG AT SLC WAS UNEVENTFUL; BUT I DID ADD AN EXTRA 10 KTS TO THE SPD CARD JUST AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION AND LANDED ON THEIR LONGEST RWY. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 584524: AS I TOOK MY HAND OFF THE GEAR HANDLE; THE STICK SHAKER WENT OFF. I IMMEDIATELY NOTED A SPD OF 164 KIAS (V2 +16 KTS AT 116000 TO WT) AND PITCH ATTITUDE WAS NORMAL FOR THIS STAGE OF CLB. THE CAPT LOWERED PITCH SLIGHTLY AND PUSHED THROTTLES UP AND THE STICK SHAKER STOPPED. TOTAL DURATION OF SHAKER WAS ABOUT 1 SECOND. THE REMAINDER OF FLT WAS NORMAL EXCEPT THAT AIRPLANE SEEMED MUCH HEAVIER THAN THE WTS WE WERE GIVEN. THE CAPT LATER TOLD ME THE MECH COMMENTED BEFORE PUSH THAT HE HAD NEVER SEEN SO MUCH STUFF PUT ON A GUPPY AND THAT WE APPEARED CUBED OUT IN THE PITS. WE CONTACTED DISPATCH AND ASKED HIM TO VERIFY OUR WTS; AND WE THEN CONTACTED MAINT CTLR AND WROTE UP STICK SHAKER. LNDG AT SLC WAS UNEVENTFUL ALTHOUGH WE ADDED SPD FOR THE POTENTIAL INCREASED WT. IT IS MY OPINION THAT THE ACFT WT WAS MUCH MORE THAN THE WTS RECEIVED FROM LOAD PLANNING.
