Synopsis

A C-152 CFI RPTED LOSING CTL OF HIS ACFT AT MGM DURING TAXI; AS AN ACR RJ PWRED UP FOR TAXI; NEXT TO THE TERMINAL.

Narrative

LCL CONDITIONS WERE VFR AND MONTGOMERY TWR RPTED WINDS AT 3 KTS AT TIME OF LNDG. AFTER LNDG ON RWY 28; I WAS CLRED BY THE TWR TO TAXI ON TXWY A3 AND TO CONTINUE E OF THE MAIN TERMINAL BLDG TO THE E TERMINAL RAMP. I HEARD MONTGOMERY TWR INFORM THE ACR REGIONAL JET; LOCATED ON THE E SIDE OF THE MAIN TERMINAL; TO GIVE WAY TO THE TAXIING ACFT ON THE TXWY ON FREQ 119.70. I WAS TAXIING THE ACFT AT A SLOW AND APPROPRIATE SPD. THE ACFT FLT CTLS WERE IN THE NEUTRAL POS AND THERE WERE NO QUARTERING TAILWINDS AND NO RPTED GUSTING WINDS. PRIOR TO PASSING IN FRONT OF THE ACR REGIONAL JET; AND WITHOUT WARNING; THE REAR L SIDE OF THE ACFT RAISED UP AND TOWARD THE FRONT R. THE R WING DIPPED DOWN AND DRAGGED ALONG THE GND AND THE PROP STRUCK THE GND TWICE AND THE ENG STOPPED. THE ACFT THEN SETTLED BACK UPRIGHT ON ITS LNDG GEAR. I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND SHUT DOWN THE ENG. THE TWR ASKED IF I NEEDED ASSISTANCE AND I INFORMED THEM I REQUIRED A TOW TO THE E RAMP AND THAT NO OTHER ASSISTANCE WAS REQUIRED. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED OR RPTED BY THE FEMALE PAX ON BOARD. AT THAT TIME; I NOTICED THAT ACR REGIONAL JET'S ENGS WERE ACTIVE; AS THE ACFT WAS TAXIING TO TXWY A. IN LIGHT OF THE LCL WX CONDITIONS; APPROPRIATE TAXIING SPD; AND PROPER USE OF THE FLT CTLS BY THE PLT; THE ONLY EXPLANATION I CAN OFFER IS A SUDDEN AND UNFORESEEN SEVERE WIND GUST CREATED BY ACR REGIONAL JET. AS THE ENGS WERE PWRED UP AND THE ACFT BEGAN TO TAXI; THE JETBLAST WAS DEFLECTED FROM THE MAIN TERMINAL BUILDING; CAUSING MY ACFT TO SUDDENLY BECOME UNCTLABLE.
