AN FAA INSPECTOR CONFRONTS THE FLT CREW ABOUT A FLT ATTENDANT THAT WAS TAKING DRINK ORDERS WHILE ON TKOF ROLL.
AFTER PARKING ACFT AT GATE IN OKLAHOMA CITY; FAA INSPECTOR CAME TO THE COCKPIT; INTRODUCED HIMSELF; AND ASKED IF HE COULD ASK A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS. HE ASKED IF: 1) COMPANY POLICY WAS TO TAKE DRINK ORDERS DURING TKOF ROLL; 2) ARE FLT ATTENDANTS SUPPOSED TO BE SEATED DURING TKOF. I REPLIED THAT THEY SHOULD BE SEATED AND NOT TAKING DRINK ORDERS. THEN I ASKED IF ONE OF OURS HAD DONE THAT AND WHICH ONE. I THEN THANKED HIM FOR BRINGING IT TO MY ATTN; CALLED FLT ATTENDANT TO THE COCKPIT. SHE ADMITTED HAVING DONE THIS; BUT STATED SHE DID NOT HEAR THE CHIME AND SUBSEQUENT ANNOUNCEMENT. (THIS WAS A COMPLETELY FULL FLT WITH NEEDY PAX; INCLUDING YOUNG CHILDREN.) SHE ALSO STATED THAT SHE WAS SEATED BEFORE ROTATION. I HAD NO WAY OF KNOWING SHE WAS NOT SEATED PRIOR TO BEGINNING TKOF ROLL. WE HAD HELD OUR POS ON RWY PRIOR TO STARTING TKOF. FAA NAME ASKED TO SEE MY LICENSE AND MEDICAL. SAID HE DID NOT THINK THIS WOULD GO AGAINST ME; BUT SAID HE INTENDED TO NOTIFY FAA WHO WOULD DETERMINE WHAT ACTION MIGHT FOLLOW. I FEEL THAT FLT ATTENDANT; LIKE MANY OTHER FLT ATTENDANTS; DID NOT LISTEN TO THE #1 FLT ATTENDANT'S PA. PROBABLY; IN COMPLACENCY; WAS TRYING TO PROVIDE POSITIVE CUSTOMER SVC AND THEREFORE ERRED. I TOLD FAA INSPECTOR THAT I WOULD SUBMIT A RPT TO MY CHIEF PLT AND THAT THE CHIEFS WOULD LIKELY INCLUDE DISCUSSION OF THIS INCIDENT IN FUTURE RECURRENT TRAINING PRESENTATIONS TO FLT ATTENDANTS.
