DC10-10 CREW WAS ASSIGNED A LNDG ARPT NOT NORMALLY OPERATED INTO. THE CREW DID NOT HAVE A LOW ALT IFR CHART. THE ZOB CTLR OBJECTED TO GIVING VECTORS IN THIS AREA AND GAVE THE CREW A PHONE NUMBER TO CALL.
COMPANY ADDED LEG DTW DIRECT MKE TO RECOVER FREIGHT. DTW CLRNC GAVE US AN AMENDED CLRNC WHICH INVOLVED GOING ON V2 THROUGH MKG THEN TO INTXN 'SUDDS.' WE CARRY THE LOW 31/32 CHART; BUT NOT THE LOW 30 BECAUSE OUR ACFT DOES NOT OPERATE TO ANY CITIES ON THAT MAP. IN TRYING TO LOCATE MKG; THE SO MENTIONED HE THOUGHT MUSKEGON WAS LOCATED FARTHER N ON THE SHORE OF LAKE MICHIGAN. THIS LED US TO SEARCH AND BELIEVE IT WAS N OF THE RWY 31/32 MAP. WE ADVISED CLRNC DELIVERY WE COULD NOT ACCEPT THAT CLRNC. THAT GAVE US A NEW RTE THAT STILL INVOLVED SUDDS INTXN. THEY FINALLY CLRED US 'DUNKS DIRECT LANSING RV SUDDS MKE' AND SAID 'ZOB WILL WORK OUT VECTORS FOR YOU.' AFTER TKOF AND TALKING TO ZOB; THEY WERE UPSET WE DID NOT HAVE THE CHARTS WE APPEARED TO NEED. THEY ASKED US TO CONTACT ZOB QUALITY ASSURANCE. AFTER LNDG AND SPEAKING TO QUALITY ASSURANCE; I DISCOVERED TO MY CHAGRIN WE DID HAVE THE RIGHT MAP -- MKG WAS ON LOW 31; NOT LOW 30. I JUST DIDN'T TURN THE MAP OVER! A COMMENT BY THE SO LED ME DOWN THE PRIMROSE PATH AND I DIDN'T INVESTIGATE THOROUGHLY ENOUGH.
