Synopsis

SF340 PLT DURING AN FAA LINE CHK IS FOUND TO HAVE OUT OF DATE REVISION TO HIS FLT OPS MANUAL AND PLT OPS MANUAL.

Narrative

I WAS LINE CHKED ON SEP/THU/03; BY FAA SAFETY INSPECTOR. THE FLT WAS FROM RHI TO MSP. DURING THIS ROUTINE CHK; THE INSPECTOR FOUND THAT MY MANUALS (FOM AND POM) WERE MISSING 1 REVISION EACH. UPON ARR INTO MSP THE INSPECTOR EXPLAINED THAT HE MUST WRITE ME A WARNING LETTER DUE TO THE MISSING REVISIONS. I IMMEDIATELY CHKED WITH MY CHIEF PLT AND DISCOVERED THAT THE FOM REVISION HAD JUST COME OUT 3 DAYS EARLIER AND I WAS OUT OF DOMICILE DURING THE PAST 3 DAYS. AS FAR AS THE POM REVISION IS CONCERNED; I REALLY HAVE NO VALID EXCUSE. MY GUESS IS THAT I MOST PROBABLY RECEIVED THE REVISION AND SOMEWHERE BTWN MY MAILBOX AND THE MANUAL I MUST HAVE PUT IT DOWN AND FORGOT TO PICK IT BACK UP AGAIN. CONTRIBUTING TO THE CHAIN OF EVENTS IS MY FAILURE TO CHK OUR STATUS PANEL WHICH WOULD HAVE CLUED ME TO GET MY MISSING REVISION. I HAD BEEN IN THE HABIT OF ONLY CHKING MY BOX FOR REVISIONS AND THEN THE BULLETIN BOARD FOR OUR COMPANY/ACFT MEMOS. HAD I BEEN IN THE HABIT OF CHKING THE STATUS PANEL; THIS WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED.
