Synopsis

FLT CREW OF H25B DEPART LAS ON BOACH SID WITH NEITHER A PAPER COPY OF THE DEP OR AN FMS DISPLAY OF SAME.

Narrative

WE WERE ENRTE FROM ROC TO SNA; WHEN OVER COLORADO; THE CAPT NOTICED A FUEL IMBAL. A PRECAUTIONARY LNDG WAS MADE IN LAS TO VERIFY THE FUEL SIT. AFTER I PURCHASED FUEL; THE CAPT INFORMED ME HE HAD GOTTEN THE CLRNC AND LOADED THE FMS FOR OUR FLT TO SNA. WE DID NOT HAVE THE HARD COPY OF THE SID. THE CAPT TOLD ME THAT CLRNC DELIVERY TOLD HIM THAT THE BOACH ONE DEP WAS A NEW PROC. THE CAPT TOLD ME HE ASKED CLRNC DELIVERY TO READ THE SID TO HIM; BUT CLRNC DELIVERY DID NOT. OUR FMS SHOWED NO FIXES OTHER THAN BOACH. AFTER TKOF; THE CAPT STARTED TO PROCEED DIRECTLY TO BOACH INTXN WITH A CLB TO 7000 FT MSL AS ASSIGNED BY CLRNC DELIVERY. SHORTLY AFTER CONTACTING DEP CTL; WE WERE QUESTIONED AS TO WHAT RTE WE WERE TAKING. WE WERE GIVEN A CORRECTIVE HEADING AND A TELEPHONE NUMBER TO CALL. FACTORS/INACTIONS/DECISIONS: 1) PAX ANXIOUS TO GET TO MEETINGS. 2) WE WERE RUSHED DUE TO OUR UNSCHEDULED LNDG AND DEP AT BUSY LAS VEGAS. 3) INCREASED STRESS DUE TO MECHANICAL PROB. 4) BRAND NEW AIRPLANE (40 HRS TOTAL TIME) WITH AVIONICS PACKAGE. FIRST AIRPLANE THAT EITHER OF US HAD FLOWN WITH PROLINE 21 AVIONICS. 5) AS RELAYED TO ME BY THE CAPT; CLRNC DELIVERY WAS NOT SPECIFIC CONSIDERING WE DID NOT HAVE THE PAPER SID AND ASKED FOR HELP UNDERSTANDING THE PROC. 6) THE CAPT DID NOT ENTER THE DEP RWY WHICH ELIMINATED ALL FIXES BEFORE BOACH INTXN. 7) THE CLRNC DID NOT SEEM CORRECT. I AM A CONTRACT PLT THAT IS VERY AWARE OF MAINTAINING GOOD RELATIONS WITH MY CLIENTS. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN FORCEFUL IN RESOLVING MY UNCOMFORTABLE FEELINGS ABOUT THE CLRNC. 8) IF WE HAD A PAPER SID; WE WOULD HAVE KNOWN IMMEDIATELY THAT OUR FMS WAS NOT PROPERLY LOADED FOR THE APPROPRIATE COURSE INFO. I FEEL THIS WHOLE EVENT COULD HAVE BEEN EASILY AVOIDED BY BETTER COM ON THE PART OF CLRNC DELIVERY; THE CAPT AND MYSELF. ALL PARTIES WERE IN A HURRY WITH BAD ASSUMPTIONS MADE. I WILL NOT GO FLYING AGAIN WITHOUT APPROPRIATE CHARTS AND A CLEAN UNDERSTANDING OF ATC INSTRUCTIONS.
