INSTRUCTOR PLT AND STUDENT PENETRATE A TFR AREA NEAR FORT WORTH; TX; RESULTING IN AN ADMONISHMENT BY ATC.

Narrative

PRIOR TO TKOF; I CALLED FSS AND ASKED ABOUT TFR'S. FSS SAID TEXAS CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY (TCU) AREA FROM SURFACE TO 3000 FT AGL WAS ACTIVE (3 NM). AFTER TKOF TO N; I STAYED IN PATTERN AND DID A LOW APCH. I DEPARTED TO SW AND CALLED REGIONAL APCH. I USED CALL SIGN 'CESSNA XXXX.' REGIONAL APCH ASKED TYPE OF ACFT. AFTER CTR DID NOT RESPOND (5 MINS); I CALLED BACK AND USED CORRECT CALL SIGN 'CESSNA YYYY.' I WAS GIVEN A XPONDER CODE. I WAS ABOUT 7 MI E OF DOWNTOWN FT WORTH AND FLEW OVER FT WORTH. I PROCEEDED S AND THOUGHT I WAS 3 MI E OF TCU. I CANCELED FLT FOLLOWING BUT USED THE WRONG CALL SIGN. AFTER LNDG AT 9F9 REGIONAL APCH CALLED VIA PHONE AND ASKED IF I KNEW I WENT INTO THE TCU AREA. I ASKED IF THEY HAD TCU'S COORDINATES. THEY DID NOT; NOR DID FT WORTH FSS. PLTS CANNOT AVOID AREAS NOT PLOTTED ON CHARTS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED HE WAS CONDUCTING FLT INSTRUCTION WHEN THE INCURSION INTO THE RESTR AREA OCCURRED. RPTR SAID HE WAS VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE AREA AND BELIEVES HE MAY HAVE ENTERED THE AREA JUST BRIEFLY WHEN RETURNING TO LAND AT 9F9.
