PLT OF PA60 GETS WX INFO FROM FLT SVC AND LANDS LONG AT ALTERNATE DUE TO TAILWIND AND RUNS OFF END OF RWY.

Narrative

ON AN IFR FLT PLAN FROM LINCOLN; NE; TO OKLAHOMA CITY. I WAS PIC WITH ONE OTHER PLT ABOARD. WE FILED FOR 10000 FT. INBTWN LINCOLN; AND WILEY POST; THERE WERE ADVERSE WX CONDITIONS. WE ASKED FOR DEVS AND WERE STAYING AWAY FROM THE TSTMS. WE WERE GETTING WX UPDATES ABOUT EVERY 10 MINS. AFTER SPEAKING WITH FORT WORTH FLT WATCH; HE ADVISED THAT THERE WERE TSTMS OVER OKLAHOMA CITY AND I CONFIRMED WITH ATIS AT WILEY POST. I DECIDED TO ASK FOR AN ALTERNATE OF CLINTON SHERMAN ARPT. FLT SVC HAD ADVISED WE DID NOT NEED TO GO THAT FAR W TO MISS THE TSTMS. HE SUGGESTED WATONGA (JWG) ARPT 7 MI AHEAD AND THAT IT WAS VFR AT 4748 FT MSL. WE RPTED BACK UP TO KANSAS CITY AND ASKED FOR WATONGA UNDER THE SUGGESTIONS OF FORT WORTH FLT WATCH. JUST TO BE SAFE; I ASKED FOR THE VOR APCH INTO WATONGA. AFTER FLYING CLOSE TO THE ARPT; I EXPERIENCED MODERATE TO SEVERE TURB; LIGHTNING; HVY RAIN AND ICE PELLETS. I THEN FLEW TO KINGFISHER VOR WHERE I WAS CLRED FOR THE APCH. I WAS AT 4000 FT AND WAS IN VFR CONDITIONS OVER KINGFISHER VOR; SO I OPTED TO LAND AT KINGFISHER IN VFR CONDITIONS. I DID NOT WANT TO GO BACK INTO THE TSTMS I JUST FLEW THROUGH OR CONTINUE TO WILEY POST WHERE THERE WERE TSTMS IN PROGRESS. I ADVISED ZKC I WAS LNDG AT KINGFISHER AND CANCELED IFR. I CIRCLED THE ARPT AND LOOKED AT THE WINDSOCK. I LANDED ON RWY 35. TSTMS WERE APCHING AND I WAS GETTING MODERATE TURB; WINDSHEAR AND A WINDSHIFT FROM A HEADWIND TO A TAILWIND JUST BEFORE TOUCHING DOWN. I LANDED AND APPLIED BRAKES ACCORDINGLY; BUT KEPT PICKING UP SPD WITH AN APPROX 40 KT TAILWIND. I WAS AT THE END OF THE RWY AND HAD NOT STOPPED YET AND RAN THROUGH A BARBED WIRE FENCE AND CAME TO A STOP AFTER THE FENCE. DAMAGE TO THE ACFT WAS A COLLAPSED NOSE GEAR AND SCRATCHES TO THE ACFT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO ME AND MY PAX WHO WAS IN THE FRONT SEAT. THERE WAS NO PROPERTY DAMAGE. I FEEL LIKE FORT WORTH FLT WATCH DID NOT GIVE ME THE CORRECT INFO FOR ME TO MAKE A SOUND DECISION AS TO WHICH ARPT TO LAND. I WAS VECTORED INTO A TSTM THAT I WAS TOLD WAS NOT IN THE VICINITY OF THE ARPT AT TIME OF THE APCH. I HAD ALSO ASKED FOR CLINTON SHERMAN ARPT AND WAS TOLD THAT I DID NOT NEED TO GO THAT FAR W; THERE WAS AN ARPT WITHIN 7 MI THAT I COULD LAND AT AND WAIT THE STORM OUT THAT WAS OVER OKLAHOMA CITY; OK. THE SOLUTION IS BETTER BRIEFING FROM FLT WATCH AND BETTER RADAR.
