EARLY MORNING ACTIVITY AND UNFAMILIARITY WITH SPOT Z TAXI CLRNC BY CLE GND CTLR RESULTS IN A TXWY J INCURSION.

Narrative

AFTER PUSH FROM GATE; RAMP CTL INSTRUCTED US TO PROCEED TO SPOT X AND CONTACT GND CTL. OUR GATES HAVE BEEN MOVED TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION AT CLEVELAND. THIS WAS OUR FIRST OP OFF OF THIS GATE. WE CHKED THE 10-9A PAGE FOR THE LOCATION OF SPOT X. IT SHOWS SPOT X ON TXWY J N OF TXWY A. AS WE PROCEEDED OUT TO TXWY J WHERE WE THOUGHT THE SPOT WAS; I NOTICED GND PAINT INDICATING SPOT X WAS RIGHT NEXT TO THE TERMINAL INSIDE THE HOLD LINES. THE CAPT TURNED THE ACFT TOWARD THE SPOT X AND HAD ME IMMEDIATELY CALL GND. GND CTL RESPONDED THAT WE NEEDED TO CONTACT THEM BEFORE WE TAXIED ON TXWY J. ALSO; IF WE HAVE A QUESTION OF THE LOCATION; WE SHOULD HAVE RAMP CTL DIRECT US TO THE SPOT. I THINK THAT SINCE THIS WAS AN UNFAMILIAR OP; IT LED TO SOME CONFUSION. BUT MORE SO; THE CHART OF THE TAXI SPOT X AT CLEVELAND IS MISLEADING AND THE PRIMARY CAUSE OF US PROCEEDING ON TXWY J. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THEIR UNFAMILIARITY WITH A NEW GATE LOCATION WAS A FACTOR IN LATE HOLD SPOT IDENT. RPTR ALLEGES THAT HOLD SPOT X IS CLOSER TO THE INTXN OF TXWYS A AND J THAN THE COMMERCIAL CHART DEPICTS.
