Synopsis

ZOB CTLR EXPERIENCED OPERROR AT NEAR FL350 DURING RVSM OPS AND MISSED ROUTING RECOGNITION OF ONE OF THE INVOLVED ACFT.

Narrative

I WAS WORKING A SUPER-HIGH ENRTE SECTOR. IT WAS BUSY WITH SPACING TO IAD; DCA; BWI AND OTHER TFC. THIS IS THE SECOND DAY OF RVSM; THE FIRST TIME I HAD WORKED THIS SECTOR WITH BUSY TFC. WITH THE RVSM; ADDITIONAL TIME HAD TO BE SPENT SCANNING THE UNFAMILIAR ALTS; THE CONFLICTION POINTS; AND THE TIME TO DSND ACFT. THE KE35 WAS WBOUND; S OF J80. THE C550 WAS SEBOUND. THE C550 WAS AT FL350 AND NEEDED TO BE AT FL290 BY THE BOUNDARY WITH ZDC. THIS INVOLVES HANDING OFF THE C550 TO THE SECTOR BELOW ME. I HAVE TO GET THE C550 TO MY BASE ALT (FL320). THERE WERE NUMEROUS SPACING AND CONFLICTION PROBS WITH IAD; DCA; AND BWI SPACING AND I OVERLOOKED THE RTE OF FLT OF THE C550. I THOUGHT HE WAS GOING STRAIGHT. INSTEAD; HE TURNED ABOUT 30 DEGS R. MY RA BROUGHT IT TO MY ATTN THAT I WOULDN'T HAVE SEPARATION; SO I IMMEDIATELY CLBED THE C550 BACK TO FL350. UNFORTUNATELY; SEPARATION WAS ALREADY LOST AT FL347 AND 2.7 MI. IF I HAD BEEN MORE FAMILIAR WITH RVSM; THIS WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. IN THE FUTURE; I WILL HAVE TO BE MORE VIGILANT ABOUT RESTRICTING TFC FLOWS SO THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN.
