AN MLG CAPT NOTES THE ISP RWY 10/28 AND 15R/33L INTXN HOT SPOT REQUIRES MORE VISIBLE HOLD SHORT LINE MARKINGS. RPTR ALSO NOTES THAT A HIGH LEVEL OF ACFT POWER IS REQUIRED TO MANEUVER OVER OBSTRUCTIONS IN THE RAMP AREA.
THIS LOCATION HAS VERY HIGH POTENTIAL FOR RWY INCURSIONS. THE INTXN OF TXWY E AND RWYS 10/28 AND 15/33L IS POORLY MARKED. THE HOLD SHORT LINE AND THE RED RWY SIGNS BOTH NEED TO BE CHANGED TO INDICATE THAT THE HOLD SHORT LINE IS FOR BOTH THE RWYS; NOT JUST FOR RWY 10/28. THE 'NEW' TYPE MARKINGS WOULD BE A GREAT ASSET FOR THIS KNOWN 'HOT SPOT' INTXN. ANOTHER SAFETY ISSUE AT ISP IS THE DIP/RISE GETTING INTO GATE X. IT SHOULD BE NOTED ON THE 10-7 PAGE. THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT DIVOT AND THEN A RISE ONTO WHAT APPEARS TO BE A CONCRETE PAD AT THE STOP POINT. ISP OPS SOMETIMES TELLS FOLKS ON THE RADIO AND SOMETIMES DOESN'T. THEY CLAIM TO HAVE SENT MESSAGES TO 'ALL THE CHIEF PLTS' WHICH INCLUDE DRAWINGS OF EXACTLY THE PROB. THIS NEEDS TO BE ISSUED AS AN AMENDED 10-7 PAGE AS WELL AS NOTED ON THE RADIO CALL FOR ACFT PLANNING TO PARK AT GATE X. IT TAKES A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF POWER TO GET OUT OF THAT HOLE. ANY ACFT OR PEOPLE AND EQUIP BEHIND THE ACFT ATTEMPTING TO GET TO THE STOP POINT ARE IN SIGNIFICANT DANGER; NOT TO MENTION THE TUG DRIVER AND THE OPS OFFICE ITSELF; SHOULD SOMETHING TERRIBLE ENSUE FROM TRYING TO GET OUT OF THE HOLE AFTER HAVING COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. BOTH OF THESE COMMUNICATIONS ISSUES SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AS SOON AS PRACTICAL.
