Synopsis

ATC ADVISED AN A300 CREW ON THE DFW SOLDO 2 FMS DEP THEY HAD EXECUTED THE TURN TO MAVVS EARLY. RPTR CONFIRMED THE FMS WAS FLYING AS DIRECTED.

Narrative

PREFLT PREPARATION FOR THE SOLDO 2 WAS COMPLETE AND ALL SYS WERE OPERATING NORMALLY. GPS WAS PRIMARY AND THE TOGA SWITCHES WERE INITIATED ON TKOF. THE AUTOPLT WAS ENGAGED AT 1000 FT AGL AND THE FMS SHOWED THE ACFT DIRECTLY ON COURSE WITH ZERO DEV ON THE NAV DISPLAY THROUGHOUT THE DEP. APCHING MECHL; THE ACFT INITIATED ITS TURN TO MAVVS PRIOR TO MECHL BUT ON THE COURSE DISPLAYED ON THE NAV DISPLAY THE POINTS ALL SHOW TO BE FLY-BY; NOT FLY-OVER POINTS ON THE SID. AGAIN; THE ACFT WAS ON THE FMS-GENERATED COURSE DISPLAYED ON THE NAV DISPLAY. THE CLOSEST POINT OF INTERCEPT TO MECHL WAS 1.7 DME ON THE NAV DISPLAY. INTO THE TURN; DEP QUERIED IF WE WERE FLYING THE SID. WE RESPONDED THAT WE WERE; AND AGAIN CONFIRMED THAT WE WERE ON TRACK ON THE NAV DISPLAY WITH NO DEGRADATION OF ANY SYS STATUS. DEP THEN COMMENTED THAT IT LOOKED LIKE WE EARLY TURNED MECHL. AGAIN; WE CONFIRMED THAT WE WERE ON THE FMS-GENERATED PATH. THE DEP CTLR THEN SAID HE WAS GOING TO WRITE US UP. THE ACFT CONTINUED TO NAV THE SID WITHOUT ANY DEVS OR EVENTS OR SYS DEGRADATIONS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THAT HE WAS ACTING AS THE PF ON THIS DEP. ATC NOTIFIED THEM THEY HAD TURNED EARLY. THIS RPTR HAS BEEN FLYING THIS DEP FOR NEARLY 2 MONTHS EXACTLY THE SAME AND THIS FIRST COMMENT IS THE FIRST HE'S HEARD ABOUT EARLY TURNS.
