Synopsis

AN MD80 TECHNICIAN RPTS NOT ACCOMPLISHING THE HORIZ STABILIZER LUBE JOB CARD. OTHER TECHNICIAN ASSIGNED TO JOB SIGNED OFF AS NOT REQUIRED AS JACKSCREW WAS OVER LUBED.

Narrative

MR X AND I WERE WORKING LUBE CARDS ON ACFT X. THE JACKSCREW GOT LUBE AND WAS AN INSPECTION BUY-OFF. MR X SAID THE LUBE WAS GOOD ON ELEVATOR TAB AND STABILIZER THAT THE PLANE IS OVER LUBED AND HE SAID IT DIDN'T HAVE TO BE DONE. I IMMEDIATELY GOT OFF MAN LIFT AND WALKED AWAY FROM THE JOB AND I WENT TO MR Y AND TOLD HIM WHAT HAPPENED. I ASKED MR Y IF I COULD STAY IN OTHER HANGAR UNTIL MR X STAMPED OFF JOB CARDS. I FELT BAD AND I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I DIDN'T WANT TO CONFRONT MGMNT AND MR X; THAT'S WHY I TALKED TO MR Y; A LEAD. I ALSO RPTED TO THE SUPVR. HE TALKED TO ME AND TOLD ME TO TALK TO THE MGR; WHICH I DID. I TALKED TO THE SUPVR TO LET HIM KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 683625: THAT NIGHT WAS ASSIGNED TO COMPLETE THE DAILY CHK OF THE ACFT AND JOB CARDS. LUBE L-HAND AND R-HAND THRUST REVERSER LINKS; AND TEMP TAPE INDICATOR CHK ON THE #1 AND #2 ENGS. I ALSO ASSISTED THE OTHER 2 MECHS THAT WERE WORKING THE ACFT (MR X AND MR Y) THAT WERE WORKING JACKSCREWING AND TAIL LUBE. I ASSISTED WITH MOVING THE LIFT TRUCK PLATFORM TO REPOS AROUND THE ACFT TAIL THAT NIGHT; AND WORK THE OTHER JOB CARDS ASSIGNED TO ME. I ASSISTED IN CLOSING PANEL ON THE TAIL. I THINK ONLY 1 TIME THAT I WAS UP ON THE LIFT TRUCK PLATFORM. THE OTHER 2 MECHS WERE UP AND DOWN ON THE LIFT TRUCK FOR REPOS AT THE TRUCK.
