Synopsis

AN A320 FROM CLBOUT TO CRUISE AT FL380 EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE UNRELATED ELECTRICAL FAULTS INCLUDING #1 FMGC.

Narrative

CLBING OUT; WE RECEIVED A R WING 'A' ICE VALVE ECAM. WE WERE ON AUTOPLT AT THE TIME; SO I PULLED OUT THE BOOK. THEN WE RECEIVED A 'STANDBY PITOT HEAT' FAULT. THE BOOK PRESCRIBED NO PROC; JUST INFO ON THE NATURE OF THE FAULT. THEN WE RECEIVED A LNDG GEAR SHOCK ABSORBER FAULT. IT APPEARED THAT THE AIRPLANE THOUGHT THE LNDG GEAR WAS STILL DOWN; BECAUSE THE ECAM TOLD US TO LEAVE THE GEAR DOWN. THEN THE AUTOPLT KICKED OFF; FOLLOWED BY THE AUTOTHROTTLE AND FLT DIRECTORS. IT APPEARED THAT WE HAD ALSO LOST THE #1 FMGC. WE HAD MULTIPLE UNRELATED PROBS; SPOKE WITH DISPATCH AND MAINT AND CONCLUDED AFTER NUMEROUS TRIES AT A RESET; THAT SOMETHING ELECTRICAL WAS FAILING ON THE AIRPLANE. WITH THESE MULTIPLE UNRELATED ELECTRIC FAULTS AND FAILURES; WE ELECTED WITH DISPATCH'S CONCURRENCES; TO GO INTO ZZZ1. WE LANDED THERE WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENT; EXCHANGED ACFT AND CONTINUED ON TO ZZZ2. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE MULTIPLE UNRELATED ELECTRICAL FAULTS SUGGESTED THE AIRPLANE HAD A WIRING PROB AND THE DECISION WAS MADE TO DIVERT. THE CAUSE OF THE MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL FAULTS IS UNKNOWN AS MAINT HAS MADE NO RPT TO THE FLT CREW.
