Synopsis

AN EMB BEING TAXIED TO THE TERMINAL TURNED INTO THE WRONG GATE AND WHEN EXITING WAS CAUGHT BTWN 2 ARRIVING ACFT BLOCKING THE TXWY.

Narrative

ANOTHER MECH AND I WERE TAXIING A PLANE FROM THE ACR X HANGAR TO THE TERMINAL. BEFORE LEAVING THE HANGAR; I CALLED OPS AND ASKED WHERE THEY WANTED US TO PARK; THEY RESPONDED BY SAYING 'SPOT 7.' AS WE APCHED THE TERMINAL; WE APCHED WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS 'SPOT 7' BUT IT ACTUALLY WAS SPOT TEN. I GAVE A CALL TO OPS AND TOLD THEM WE WERE ON SPOT 10 INSTEAD OF SPOT 7. AT THE TIME OPS DID NOT HAVE CAMERAS TO SEE US ON THAT SIDE OF THE TERMINAL; SO THEY TOLD US TO PROCEED WITH CAUTION. AS WE MADE A L TURN TO GO TO OUR GATE; AN ACR Y B737 PUSHED OUT OF THEIR GATE. WE WAITED BECAUSE WE THOUGHT HE WAS GOING TO MAKE A L BUT TO OUR SURPRISE HE MADE A R AND FACED US. WITH NO COM BTWN OUR PLANE AND THEIRS WE DECIDED TO TURN 180 DEGS AND TRY TO GET OUT OF THEIR WAY. AS WE DID SO; WE ENCOUNTERED ANOTHER PROB. AT THE END OF OUR 180 DEG TURN WE WERE ABOUT 20 YARDS AWAY FROM AN ONCOMING COMPANY REGIONAL JET. SO WE WERE STUCK BTWN 2 ACFT. SO WE DID THE ONLY THING WE COULD THINK OF; WHICH WAS EXIT OUT WHERE WE JUST CAME IN 'SPOT 10.' WE CONTACTED GND AND HAD TO GET INSTRUCTIONS HOW TO GET TO 'SPOT 7.'
