B777 FLT CREW HAS TO MAKE AN ABRUPT STOP TO AVOID ANOTHER ACFT WHILE TAXIING; CAUSING POSSIBLE INJURIES TO THE FLT ATTENDANTS.

Narrative

GND GAVE US A TAXI VIA TXWY A7 TO TXWY T FOR RWY 32L TXWY T10; FOLLOW MD80. CAPT AND I BOTH CLRED AND CALLED CLR OUR RESPECTIVE SIDES. I HAD CLRED TO THE R (IT WAS CLR) AND THEN POINTED OUT OUR TFC AHEAD AT 11 O'CLOCK POS (THE MD80) AS WE BEGAN TO ROLL FORWARD FOR OUR TAXI. I THEN SAW AN RJ FAST APCHING FROM OUR R. AS I'M STARTING TO CALL IT TO THE CAPT; HE SEES IT AS WELL AND APPLIES BRAKES TO ENSURE SAFE SEPARATION. GND THEN MAKES SOME TYPE APOLOGY CALL CONCERNING THE RJ. I ASKED THE 'A' FLT ATTENDANT IF ANY INJURIES IN THE BACK. SHE RPTED NO MAJOR INJURIES AND THAT ALL WERE ABLE AND OK TO CONTINUE. WE CONTINUED TAXI AND NORMAL FLT. JUST PRIOR TO DSCNT; THE 'A' FLT ATTENDANT SAID THERE MAY BE SOME MINOR INJURIES TO SOME OF THE CREW BUT DIDN'T HAVE NAMES. POSSIBLE INJURIES INCLUDED SORE BACK; TORN FINGERNAIL; AND SORE GROIN. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 694022: FO STATED TFC; ABOUT THE SAME TIME I SAW AN RJ TAXIING RIGHT IN FRONT OF US. I IMMEDIATELY AND ABRUPTLY STOPPED THE ACFT. WE PASSED WITH 40 FT BTWN US.
