G200 GULFSTREAM HAS R ENG COMPRESSOR STALL DURING CLB; DECLARES EMER; DIVERTS FOR LNDG.
THE R ENG EXPERIENCED SEVERAL RAPID COMPRESSOR STALLS WHEN THE THRUST LEVERS WERE RETARDED FROM MAX CLB TO MAX CRUISE WHILE LEVEL AT FL390; .80 MACH. THE ACFT WAS APPROX 120 NM S OF ZZZ1 ON THE ZZZ DEP TO ZZZ2. THE R ENG THRUST LEVER WAS IMMEDIATELY RETARDED TO IDLE. THE ITT INDICATED AN OVERTEMP DURING THE INITIAL STALLS; BUT RETURNED TO NORMAL RANGE WHEN THE THRUST LEVER WAS RETARDED TO IDLE. THE CREW REQUESTED DIRECT ZZZ3 AND WAS CLRED DIRECT ZZZ4 FOR THE YYY ARR. OVER ZZZ4; THE CREW DECLARED AN EMER AND WAS CLRED DIRECT ZZZ3. DURING THE RETURN TO BASE; THE R ENG INDICATIONS (N1; N2 AND ITT) OCCASIONALLY FLUCTUATED SLIGHTLY IN IDLE. EVENTUALLY THE R FADEC FAULTY MESSAGE CAME ON. THE CREW HAD BEEN REFING THE QRH IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE COMPRESSOR STALLS. DURING THE DSCNT; THE THRUST LEVER WAS SMOOTHLY ADVANCED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE QRH TO CHK OP ABOVE IDLE BUT THE ENG COMPRESSOR STALLED AGAIN. THE ENG WAS RETURNED TO IDLE FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE FLT. BOTH L AND R IGNITION ON MESSAGES CAME ON SEPARATELY DURING RECOVERY BUT WENT OUT WITHIN 10 SECONDS. ADDITIONALLY; THE L FUEL PUMP ON MESSAGE CAME ON AND REMAINED ILLUMINATED. A VISUAL SIMULATED SINGLE ENG APCH WAS FLOWN TO AN UNEVENTFUL FULL STOP LNDG ON RWY. THERE WERE NO FAR OR OPERATING PROC DEVS DURING THE FLT. ATC DID APPEAR TO PROVIDE TFC PRIORITY WITH CLRNCS DIRECT TO ZZZ3. THE ACFT HAD BEEN FLOWN EARLIER IN THE DAY BY THE SAME CREW WITHOUT INCIDENT. IT TURNS OUT 2 OTHER ACFT HAD NEARLY IDENTICAL PROBS THE SAME DAY. ALL 3 ACFT HAD BEEN FUELED BY THE SAME FUEL TRUCK. FUEL CONTAMINATION IS BEING INVESTIGATED.
