AN M20C ON APCH DECLARED AN EMER AND DIVERTED DUE TO THE LNDG GEAR FAILING TO FULLY EXTEND. LANDED GEAR UP INCURRING ACFT DAMAGE.
I DEPARTED ZZZ1 FOR LCL FLT. I WAS COMING BACK TO LAND AT ZZZ1. THE LNDG GEAR WOULD NOT COME DOWN BY THE NORMAL ELECTRICAL SYS. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO BRING THE GEAR DOWN; I FLEW TO ZZZ2. WHEN I WAS OVER ZZZ2 ARPT; I TRIED THE MANUAL LNDG GEAR SYS FOLLOWING THE ACFT OWNER'S MANUAL INSTRUCTIONS. THE LNDG GEAR JAMMED WHILE THE GEAR WAS GOING DOWN AND THE MANUAL CRANK HANDLE BROKE OFF. I FOUND A SCREW DIVER IN THE SEAT BACK POCKET TO USE TO TRY TO CRANK THE GEAR DOWN. I CONTACTED ZZZ1 TWR AND FLY BY THE TWR SO THEY COULD SEE IF THE GEAR WAS DOWN. THEY COULD SEE THE 2 MAIN GEAR WERE DOWN ABOUT 1/2 WAY BUT THE NOSEWHEEL WAS NOT DOWN. I CONTACTED A MECH ON THE RADIO AND THE MECH RECOMMENDED THAT I TRY BRINGING THE GEAR BACK UP WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYS. THE GEAR CAME UP. THE MECH RECOMMENDED I LAND WITH THE GEAR UP. I FLEW AROUND TO BURN OFF GASOLINE. WHEN THE FIRE EQUIP WAS IN PLACE ON RWY 22; I LANDED WITH FULL FLAPS; ELECTRIC SYS OF; GEAR UP ON SHORT FINAL. AFTER IT CAME TO A STOP; I SHUT OFF THE GASOLINE AND EXITED THE AIRPLANE. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE MAIN LNDG GEAR WAS 1/2 WAY DOWN BUT THE NOSE GEAR WAS NOT DOWN. TECHNICIAN ADVISED RETRACTING THE LNDG GEAR WITH THE NORMAL ELECTRICAL SYS AND THIS DID RETRACT THE LNDG GEAR. THE AIRPLANE WAS LANDED WITH THE LNDG GEAR RETRACTED AND DAMAGED THE PROP AND ENG BUT RELATIVELY LIGHT DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE. NO INFO ON THE LNDG GEAR PARTS THAT FAILED AS THE AIRPLANE HAS NOT BEEN JACKED AND WORKED BY THE LCL SHOP.
